Transfer Flow 58 gallon replacement tanks are finally being sold and installed!!!!

I know others have reported this issue in the past, but has anyone solved the “service engine ~ vehicle emission system warning” after the install of their new TF 58 gallon tank? I’m still periodically getting the warning but not constant and goes away after a while.
That's interesting. I've never seen that message. I'm sure you've reach out to TF. Any response?

I have not experienced this issue yet but I am only on my 3rd 58 gallon tank of gas.

I started getting a P0455 code about 2 years after install. I got underneath and the charcoal canister was unmounted hanging loose. There are small bolts and "slots" to keep it in place. I got bigger bolts and cranked it on tight and cleared the code. It stay off for a few months but eventually came back. No connectors seem loose, but not sure if one of the lines was damaged. I'm not super worried about it but need to have it smoke tested at some point and see where the evap leak is actually at.

Mounting location after moving it in place but missing bolts:

After securing it with bigger bolts/washers:

When mine flashed it was because the reputable installer did not fully seat a connection above the tank. A ford service tech happened to notice it, took a picture, then fixed it.

Has anyone has an Evap code thrown at them with the tank?

What smoke machine do you use for an evap test and where to I connect it at?

If a new post is needed I will do that.

Thank you!

The good thing is that in NJ if I fill up at a BJ's with the card I am presently paying $2.64/Gal. So even if I could run it down and have to fill it up at 58 gallons the fill up would be max $153. I spent $129 yesterday on my fill up. the problem is that they will only let you go to 40 gallons on each transaction so you have to do 2 transactions per fill up!:cautious: That is NJ for you. Still the only state that will not let you pump your own gas!
We visited Oregon and they wouldn’t let us pump the gas there.

OK I have a question on this for the 23+ MY. I know you can't get the fuel capacity right in Forscan. Does that mean you can't set the value to 58 gallons or can you not even change it to the 48 gallon option an 8' bed would have? I am cool with it if it lets me switch to the 48 gallons. Change the reserve to 0 and that is close enough. However, if you can't change it all, that would suck.

Last question, I assume that these changes are only on the As Built menu and not in plain english?

I have not done it but it has been said on here that the dealer can change the values.

My Tremor is a 24 MY. I have not messed with Forscan yet. The gas gauge works showing you how full it is and the avg MPG works fine. The DTE is what does not work although it is constantly changing. I find when I reach empty on the gauge it typically has about 10 gallons left in the tank. I have been recording with every fill up by using the trip meter. Of course I would love it if the DTE worked properly. I use the trip meter for that but again the gas gauge works fine so I just look at that as well.

If someone could figure out how to fix the DTE problem which I am assuming it could be fixed by being able to change the size of the tank, like they could in the 20-22 MY, that would solve that problem then everyone would be happy. I love having the larger tank. It is so much better giving you much more travel time between fill ups and knowing I have 10 gallons to go even when empty is excellent as well. I ran it one time where I only had 5 gallons left which again was great. I love the truck and I love it even more with the TF 58 gal tank!

I tried all kinds of different stuff in forscan and nothing worked.

Please share the info and what needs to be updated to 48G. I'll take that over the 36G.
ForScan can make the change.
Jump over to the ForScan thread and check the sheet for the value changes.

I was really on the fence about buying one of these but then went on an 8k road trip over the summer from Delaware up thru the Canadian Rockies and while the extra capacity would have been nice I was never in a position where I needed the extra fuel. I saved the money and bought a Mustang instead :ROFLMAO:

Great information as I have my tank sitting in its crate ready to be installed soon.
Well, finally got the chance to get the new tank installed on 1/1/26.
Removing the drive shaft was definitely a must and made it much easier to get to everything.
Robpm if correct, the instructions leave out some details that you have to work around once you get started.
Used a friends lift at his shop, which helped tremendously, and it took us about 8 hrs.
Fit snugly and perfectly.
Had a couple of fuel leaks at several of the snap on fittings, but those were human errors.
We did not have them pushed in and locked all the way.
Looking forward to the first full tank to break it in.

Congratulations! Welcome to the $200 fill-up club! 🤪
