Transfer Flow 58 gallon replacement tanks are finally being sold and installed!!!!

They didn't want the truck for the install till I had it less than a 1/4 and preferred 1/8 or less. Just a little planning on your part will make it so much easier.
I ran out of gas a couple miles from the installer when I had mine done. Brought a long a gas can and put in just enough to make it. They were very appreciative as it made dealing with the old tank a breeze.

So Harbor Freight has this transmission jack that is 7.25" off of the ground and goes up to 23.625" so I think that there is plenty of height. Again the ideal would be to have it at like 1" at the bottom but I do not think that I will find that. Here are some links on the transmission jack which is presently $130 with no coupon or special deal.

Then they have their motorcycle jack for the same price as well. https://www.harborfreight.com/1500-lb-steel-atvmotorcycle-lift-60536.html There is a video on this. The nice thing about this is the lowest level is 4.25" and it will go up to 16.375" It only has two swivel wheels as apposed the the 4 swivel wheels on the transmission jack and it is bigger and weighs more than the transmission jack. Again all for the same price. I tend to think that the transmission jack would be better if I can get the truck height just enough to slide the tank underneath and visa versa when taking the existing tank down.

Any thoughts and any other suggestions for jacks.

Just a follow up. The clearance on the side of the truck where the drivers side of the truck which is stock is 20" meaning there is a 2" clearance since the TF tank at its highest point is 18" high. If I use a set of 4 ramps which are at least 7" high and drive the truck up on the ramps I will not have to jack the truck up. Redzilla in post #858 made the point about taking and cutting a bunch of 2x12's and making it safe with the truck sitting on the wheels. Using 4 ramps would allow that. I have one set which is actually close to 9" high. I looked at the set Harbor Freight has which are actually 7" high. I am going to check with some friends to see if any have a set that I could borrow and hopefully they will be close to the height that I need. I think that this would solve the height problem and the simple transmission jack from Harbor Freight could give me a good tool to be able to lift the tank into place.

One other note, of those of you who did a driveway install, how was it working around the drive shaft since the driveshaft looks pretty close to me and you still need to be able to get to the top of the tank in order to connect everything up and I am wondering if the drive shaft will give me a challenge to do that.

Looks like you’re working out a good plan. I think you’ll look back when finished and be surprised how well it worked out. Not sure if you’ll need any special tools for disconnecting your fuel lines but if so you can borrow for free at most auto part stores. 👍
