Transfer Flow 58 gallon replacement tanks are finally being sold and installed!!!!

And how many gallons did it take to fill it? The reason I ask is this is posted in Transfer Flow install papers. And I'm about to order the tank and Forscan isn't fixed yet for 23 and 24

Due to the increased capacity of the Transfer Flow replacement fuel system, the vehicle’s “Distance to Empty” (DTE) reading will no longer be accurate. Based on the original capacity and the Transfer Flow tank capacity of 58 gallons, the following are approximate gauge position/gallon readings for the 58-gallon replacement system (may vary depending on gauge and sender tolerances).Gauge Gallons
EMPTY 1.5 gal.
¼ tank 19 gal.
½ tank, 29 gal.
¾ tank, 40 gal.
FULL 58 gal.
Didn't pay attention..I have a '21 so my DTE works fine.

That's the same sheet that came with my tank.

Just an update
It appears the max fuel capacity is baked into the module firmware (similar to tire size max), so the only option at this time for short beds is to increase the tank size from 36 to 48 in the PCM plain English.

If someone wants to experiment, instead of using the gallons, change the liters and slowly climb upwards to find the max value. (The AsBuilt is coded in liters)
Shoot me a pm if someone need some help

Until a work around is developed/located this is the best we can do.

I haven't been on forscan lately. I'm waiting for my tank to be delivered. I thought I read here somewhere that somebody changed there reserve amount of gas from 6 gallons to 3 gal. Is it an option also with the larger tank to change it to 0 or 1 gallon reserve and with the larger tank there would still be plenty of gas in reserve but it would get the DTE closer. 48 gal plus 5 gal. from reserve change 53 gallons so 5 still in reserve?

@ZooDad To clarify, is this in reference to 23+ GAS models?

I don't have the new tank yet but if anybody is interested in helping solve the 23+ DTE issues.

TransferFlow has a Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale that just started. $250 off a purchase over $999. Covered my shipping cost and a little more on my 58 gallon replacement tank.

That's the best deal they offer all year long. For everyone else, if you're thinking of doing this mod this will be the best price you can expect to get.

Ordered mine yesterday, due to be delivered to my installer in Albuquerque on Monday. Crazy fast processing and shipping.

Just got mine installed today. The bracket only sits 1 inch lower with full tank. 1 inch less ground clearance.
This part was not fun.

Welcome to the club my friend! Now you're good for a week instead of two days 🤪.

Let's see the DTE gauge.

Mink,
My Tremor is still on order but I am considering this tank upgrade as soon as possible.
I have not read through this long 3yr series of posts so forgive me if this has been covered.
What is Ford's policy on this as to how it would impact the truck's standard or extended warranty ?

I don't think it will impact anything with the warranty's unless it is a tank problem then TF's warranty would kick in. TF tanks are well made and there parts that ship with the replacement tanks are as good if not better than factory. That's just my 2 cents worth, maybe somebody here knows more about it then me.

I understand, thank you.

There's a Federal law Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that in theory protects you if you do any after-market modifications to your vehicle. Under the law, the OEM would need to prove that the modification caused the issue that you are seeking warranty coverage for.

That said, the only thing that you're likely to have to deal with as a result of installing the extended fuel tank is the fuel pump. Transfer Flow fuel tank systems are backed by a 6-year, unlimited-mile warranty so if something is going to fail there, they have you covered. You wouldn't need to deal with the OEM on that. I can't think of anything else they would try to say the fuel tank caused the OEM part to fail, but I'm sure there's something I'm not thinking of that others might be able to point to.

That said, I've probably put 15 - 20K miles on the truck since installing mine and it is the most functional and useful mod I have done and it has been great to have the extra range.
