Transfer Flow 58 gallon replacement tanks are finally being sold and installed!!!!

I rarely ever let the tank get this low, but for those of you with the 2020 - 2022 models that can change the DTE, I filled up with 49.053 gallons with 23 miles to E. This tank was slightly over 10mpg due to some of it towing, so theoretically it would have been at ~51 - 52 gallons at 0 miles to E. Looks like it leaves a reserve of about 6 - 7 gallons.

Thank you, I'm considering this. When your tank is totally full does it reach 550 ish?
The truck reads 780 after a fill up. I don't go under a 1/4 of a tank. When I drive to CA from AZ I fill up in Quartzsite, drive to my in-laws, drive around to see other family, then drive back to Quartzite to fill up. It's over 500 mile and the truck normally says I have 150ish miles to empty.

Best upgrade I did to the truck!!!

This thread has been around for a while but I moved it under the 7.3 Engine Forum since this change is specific to that engine.

Thank you brother! However, I think @Vermonster should be doing this; he needs the practice 🤪.

So, has anyone actually done the install themselves in the driveway?
With it being big and metal and most of the cost being the tank not the install, I think it’s worth the cost of having someone else install and break their back 😂 but to each there own.

Could somebody here with a stock Tremor, ie no level and 285/75/18 Duratrac's give me a measurement from the pavement/concrete to the lowest point (ground clearance) on the 58 gal. TF

I'll get to it soon. What I do know is that it hangs one inch lower than stock.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I've read through most if not all the pages and looking at some of the picture posted it looks deceiving I'm sure, but it looks to hang down a mile :) I know it doesn't. It's kind of like the way I can take a picture of a regular size 4 point buck and make it look like a monster.

You're welcome! Oh trust me, I hear ya. I deal with "photographers" all the time. I can't tell you how many times I think someone has double D's, only to find out they're a B cup. So annoying.

I hope these help.

From the middle. A little under 14 1/2 inches:

The left side. The bracket brings it down a bit further to 13 1/4 ish:

Photo backed away a bit to show the truck is level and measured at the lowest point, being the middle bracket.

I don't know what the stock tank measures. My truck is a '22 so I don't know if there's a difference for '23+.

Anything else, let me know! I'd like to note that this isn't the first time someone on the Internet has asked me to measure something 🤪.

I can't recall where I've seen someone say they did it themselves, but it is possible. You'd likely need a transmission jack or something similar to hold the tank up for the install. The fuel lines require it being dropped a few inches (just enough to get your hands on to connect them). Otherwise, it seems like the install is pretty straightforward for someone who is mechanically inclined.

Of course, run your OEM tank as low as possible to make removing to easier and helps to have a pump to transfer the remaining fuel to the new tank once installed.

Advantage of having a shop install is they also handle disposal of the old tank. My shop charged $700 for install. Took them about 4 hours or so.

Thank you, My 2024 parked near level on shop concrete floor all stock holding a level across the tank skid plate measures 14" so it looks like the 1" lose is mostly because of the cross bracket that holds the tank.

You're welcome! It's good to know one of my posts was useful 😁.

At least 6 to 7 gallons...I have ran little over 20 miles with the MTE on zero...

And how many gallons did it take to fill it? The reason I ask is this is posted in Transfer Flow install papers. And I'm about to order the tank and Forscan isn't fixed yet for 23 and 24

Due to the increased capacity of the Transfer Flow replacement fuel system, the vehicle’s “Distance to Empty” (DTE) reading will no longer be accurate. Based on the original capacity and the Transfer Flow tank capacity of 58 gallons, the following are approximate gauge position/gallon readings for the 58-gallon replacement system (may vary depending on gauge and sender tolerances).Gauge Gallons
EMPTY 1.5 gal.
¼ tank 19 gal.
½ tank, 29 gal.
¾ tank, 40 gal.
FULL 58 gal.

Did you adjust the reserve in Forescan to 0 gallons?

Based on about 10k miles with the tank, this is what I estimate capacity at based on the fuel gauge (with no Forscan changes made), and amount left in tank when doing full fill-ups when DTE is zero.

Empty = 8 gallons
1/4 tank = 20 gallons
1/2 tank = 33 gallons
3/4 tank = 45 gallons
Full = 58 gallons
