First fillup after getting the tank installed. I'm very pleased with the new tank.

Got mine installed a week ago and modified Forscan before the install. I was wondering how long it would take for the change to occur. The miles to empty keeps increasing as I drive. First fillup was 55 gallons. Couldn't be happier, got gas at $2.59/gal. Around here it just went up to $2.99. (Saved a few bucks for now!) CheersHappy to report that after a couple fill-ups the Forscan adjustment to the larger tank size looks good. Still no idea why the numbers were not jiving immediately after install/Forscan adjustments, but nevertheless all looks good now. I did adjust the "reserve" amount in Forscan as well, changed it from 6 gallons to 4.

607 miles / 11.0 mpg = 55.2 gallons with ~ 2.8 reserve (or less as I didn't fully top off I quit when the pump auto shut off).
Very happy with it all and all.
Good to know. Didn't realize there is a reserve setting that can be change. So the default is 6 gallons?Happy to report that after a couple fill-ups the Forscan adjustment to the larger tank size looks good. I'm curious where you can change the reserve? I didn't know that was possible. My truck is still learning, and I am staing right around 725 to e. After the initial forscan change it was pretty low, but has consistently been increasing over the last week since the install.Happy to report that after a couple fill-ups the Forscan adjustment to the larger tank size looks good. Can someone in the know explain where in FORSCAN I can find the Mod to change the reserve setting?

There's a DTE Empty Value with a default setting of 6 (assuming gallons) in the IPC Module. I changed it to 4.Good to know. Didn't realize there is a reserve setting that can be change. So the default is 6 gallons?
I'm looking to keep mine as a spare gas storage tank. I have multiple places to store it out of the weather. Only thing I am concerned about is the gas smell. I have it in a shed now, and I need to ge back in and see if it reeks of gas. If not, I will keep it and fill it up. If it doesn't work, I will probably burn it. I have 20 acres that I live on.What are you guys doing with your original gas tank? Mine is getting installed tomorrow and I don't know whether to keep it as a backup, try to sell it, or just have the installer dispose of it... I know it's considered hazardous waste and would be more difficult to dispose of later on, so i'm tempted to just have the installer get rid of it for me, but at the same time it seems like such a waste since it's basically brand new.
Sold mine to the local salvage yard. Not worth much but I didn't need it sitting around the shop either.I'm looking to keep mine as a spare gas storage tank. How much if you don't mind my asking? Just wondering if it's worth the trouble or not.Sold mine to the local salvage yard. Not worth much but I didn't need it sitting around the shop either.
I don't think that is accurate for our trucks. I checked in the listing for the modules and I do not see anything related to "fuel" or "reserve" in any of the memory addresses. This is using the 2021 F150 spreadsheet for a reference which has been very comparable to our trucks. There's a DTE Empty Value with a default setting of 6 (assuming gallons) in the IPC Module. I got $7.83 for the skid plate and brackets and $185 bucks for 2 spare steel wheels, made the trip worth it to salvage yard..They wouldn't take the plastic tank so I took to the dump. How much if you don't mind my asking? Just wondering if it's worth the trouble or not.
My bladder will burst before we run out of gas now
My readings seem accurate based on larger size after I changed to DTE source from PCM to IPC. I'm guessing that PCM learns, while IPC uses the configured number of gallons + gauge reading.
I did get a paper from TF that told me exactly the numbers at Empty,1/4,1/2,3/4,Full - it's somewhere at home.
I have found out mine seems to read top heavy. I started around 725, but ended up around 660. Also, when at half a tank, I had a lot more miles to e than I had driven. Doesn't seem balanced.
