Transfer Flow 58 gallon replacement tanks are finally being sold and installed!!!!

I must've gotten a faulty tank from Transferflow! I replaced my tank, did the forscan changes, filled her up and my DTE is only 609! Nothing even close to the 780+ others are showing! ;)
You do have to get your foot out of it to get 750 miles per tank. :p

Try using eco mode for a few days 🤣
eco what? That doesn't sound very fun... not at all! Pretty sure faulty tank is to blame!
and I doubt anything eco is pulling my trailer! lol.

Here is my current road trip mileage. I just filled up yesterday. Have to suck it up when the wind blows and you are towing a travel trailer as a sail = 5mpg

Edit:spelling of sail

Yep it bites. But with the extra gallons at least you aren't stopping every hour. Depending on where you're filling up, diesel pretty much sucks at the pump too. Pick your poison. 🍻

Last time I went over a CAT scale my total combined GVWR was 17,600 which was only 60 pounds shy of legal with my F250 payload/GVWR trailer sticker. I still need to go over a scale without the trailer to see what the truck with a normal load weighs. But between an RSI Smartcap, a Bedslide and all our stuff for living on the road - I bet I have a constant load of 1,200+ lbs in the bed at all times. I did have a tank last week without the trailer in Big Bend cruising 45mph to 70mph where I had a 450mile range when I filled up so about 13.25mpg and that was with the bed loaded as normal. I chalk that up to cruising without traffic

$350 at AutoXtras in San Antonio, TX. Disposed of tank no cost.
I was the first one they did. It took longer than they thought and had to keep the truck over the weekend. They were very fair. Covered my rental for the weekend which was a wash for the install. I kept my tank, but may get rid of it. Haven't decided yet.

I have run 3 different fillups to see how many gallons it would take at each 1/4 tank hash mark. See below.

1/4 tank-13.068 gallons to fill up
1/2 tank-26.929 gallons to fill up-I was a little under 1/2 tank
3/4 tank-39.350 gallons to fill up

Average gallons used per 1/4 tank-13.

Extrapolating this out, 13*4=52 gallons+6 gallon reserve = 58 gallons.

I'm also looking at about 730-750 miles DTE when I fill up. I got 13mpg this last tank hand calculated. Lie o meter showed 13.5

I had the Transfer Flow 58 gal installed in January and had changed the tank size in Forscan before the install. The first fillup was 50 gallons and MTE showed as 350 miles. I wanted to run thru a full tank before filling up for a second time.

I let the fuel gauge get to less than a 1/8 tank and a message on the console said “50 Miles to Empty”. The actual miles I put on since the first fillup was 587. After fueling up with 46.8 gallons, the MTE showed 442 miles??? What’s going on.

I verified that Forscan IPC module 720-03-01 showed the correct numbers. Does the module 720-09-01 have anything to do with this? BTW, what does 720-09-01 do? I’m confused. Thanks

Had you reset your trip counter between fill ups? We'd have to know what your mileage was being calculated as by the truck. For instance based on the numbers you provided your previous trip counter would have been somewhere around ~ 8.5 mpg. If that is way off then yes something is off. Did you change the fuel level source to IPC per instructions here: https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14698 ?

You need to change the DTE source to IPC.

Has anyone had this installed in the Phoenix area? If so, who was the recommended installer and were they any good?

I chatted with Cliff’s and they seemed on board. Just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

What is the DTE source? What does DTE stand for?
Distance till empty. FORscan change.

I had Super Duty Head Quarters, in Gilbert do mine. They did the forescan programming for the new capacity , too. It went perfect.

Is there a list to see if someone close by can install? I live in East Tennessee

Anybody have this installed in the Minneapolis / St Paul area in Minnesota,

What did they charge for the install, how long did it take, and did they dispose of the old tank?
