The DIY at your own risk guide to adding Multi Contour Seats (MCS) to your Truck

Which package or option gives you this added shoulder support section? I've seen them on Lariats all the way up to Limited's like shown here. Can that be added with the proper leather upper?

My '23 Platinum with MCS does not have that shoulder support setup.

As someone who suffers from the horribly un-comfortable lumbar in my 22 F350 Lariat, and have disconnected the lumbar cable and added additional back padding to the seat, would this MCS setup work to 'fix' the insanely uncomfortable seats for me?
Currently I suffer from severe lower back pain if I drive the truck more than 2hrs.

I added spacers at the rear of the seat where it bolts to the floor to make my Lariat seat more comfortable.

That’s shocking to me. My 22 lariat seats are the most comfortable seats I’ve had. About a month ago we did a 24 hour drive with only fuel and bathroom breaks. I drove the whole way (25 hours) and my back was perfect. I feel for you as uncomfortable seats suck!

I went from a MY22 Lariat Ultimate to a MY23 Platinum with MCS. I think the MCS seats are noticeably more comfortable but comfort is subjective. I would say you need to test for yourself.

I have a bad lower back as well but the seats in my '23 are some of the best and most comfortable I've ever had. Try adding the Desert Does It Seat Jackers to the front of the seat. I installed them in our Land Cruiser and it took the seat from unbearable beyond an hour to not too bad for 6-8 hours for me.

Agreed, they are pretty good.

The adjustability of seat is not the problem.
It's the overly stiff lumbar. 2 months ago I did 2 trips to SoCal (8hrs each way) in 2 days (each trip) and the seats hyper-extended my lower back. I've still not recovered.

I'm assuming the MCS seat setup for these trucks is the same as the 2020 Expedition Platinum? My wife has that vehicle.

Removing the lumbar eye hook inside the seat helped immensely for me. Still not perfect though; I agree. Would love to put ‘23 seats in my ‘22.

Is it the Max Recline Seat or just the standard seats in the 23s that are comfortable? Im looking at a 23 King Ranch without max recline and would like to add the MCS.

Max recline gives you the shoulder bolster along with folding nearly flat, does nothing for the lower lumbar. Multi Contour Seats are simply air pockets that pulsate to simulate a massage like feature. I had it in my 2017 and it was ok, I wouldn't complain if my truck had it but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to add it or delay an order on a truck for it, YMMV.

Another successful MCS install! ZooDad and Svenster were extremely helpful on getting the final step (FORSCAN) working but I absolutely thrilled to finally have MCS after being told by Ford that it couldn’t be done. You guys Rock!!

What year truck did you do it on? Driving my 21 platinum with massage and heat last night reaffirmed I can’t do without!

I'm waiting to see what happens to 24MY before I venture on attempting this with my 23.

Where did you source your parts? I've been on the lookout but can't find anything besides retail.

I have a 22 that I waited for 14 months to get built and fell into the 3 month window when Ford was super awesome ☹️ to give me 300.00 credit for deleting my seats. Now I finally have the truck I ordered. 😜

I bought mine straight from Ford parts as I could find a junk yard that had them all.
