The DIY at your own risk guide to adding Multi Contour Seats (MCS) to your Truck

@DriftwoodTremor how long did it take you to piece all the parts together.
@Svenster and I had the parts list from another user on the FTE forums and I had corroborating info from a diff forum with F150 parts. We both reached out to no avail. So with the parts we knew we priced it out and it was pricey. @Svenster went out and found the ebay resource and was able to get the parts from him. I did the same. Richard was awesome he sent all the parts directly to us and it was everything we needed which is listed here. Now those parts are specific for our super duties as that is what they came out of. I then got in contact with @ZooDad who did his truck. So not long as it was all a single vendor.

Well looking at your interior you have a platinum @DriftwoodTremor ?
I have a 350 diesel platinum 22 that Ford so graciously saved me $300 on. I am guessing the parts you needed shouldn’t be too far off from the parts I would need.

They would be the exact same. I have a 22 6.7 diesel Platinum.

I didn't think I'd miss this feature as much as I do. Excellent info .. Thank You.

@ZooDad if there is a list, I would like to jump on. I am pretty handy, but there is just something about tearing into new truck all Willy nilly

For those that have done this mod is the juice worth the squeeze? From everything I have read the MCS seats have received mixed reviews.

@Leadmic . Coming from never having them to having them I believe they are worth it.
When I ordered my 16 I was nope don’t want/need them. Then wife got an 18 F150 Platinum. A couple longer drives using MCS I was sold but when I ordered my 20. No way of getting them w/o some stuff that was a definite no. Figured I would look into adding if possible. Fast forward added all all is good.

Good info for someone determined enough to do this. I’ll never understand why.
Then why reply, look at the thread and move on. I don’t understand why people have to shit on others if it’s not their cup of tea.

Yes I’ve done this on this board before but I feel I see a lot of negative posting from you. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Well done OP, that $300 Ford credit isn’t a drop in the bucket and I see why people are upset about it getting canceled on their orders.

What’s negative, dude? Who’s shitting on anything beside you? I simply stated my opinion on multi contour seats and i did say it’s “good info” for someone interested in this mod.

Let me state it for you especially: this is a forum and people CAN and SHOULD express their opinions in the way they see fit. Don’t like someone’s comment, in similar fashion that you just referenced… “move on”.

Amazing write up! Thank you for doing the legwork! I was pretty bummed when I didn't get my multi contour seats also. It was the only reason I got the Platinum.

So is this worth it though? How good are the multi contour seats?

Really don't have any need/use for this mod... but with that being said, your write-up and pics are TOP NOTCH!!! (y)
Agree!

It was worth it to me especially since I could get the parts at a much lower price point than new from Ford. I got the platinum for the better seats and MCS functionality.

As others have stated, you may or may not find MCS of value. For me, I like MCS and when Ford deleted MCS on my MY22 F350 Limited I was bummed to say the least. Did I need to have them...no, did I want them .... yes. Now that I installed the MCS and found reasonably priced MCS components, I am happy I chose to forge new ground and perhaps help others that may have had MCS deleted or would like them added to their rig. One of the reasons I choose to add MCS was because everyone said it was not possible. I heard that the components were different, different seat frames, programming, etc....all lead to the conclusion of it was not possible to add MCS. So I took it upon myself to figure it out and see if in fact it can be done. I researched the internet for months and didn't find much info, I reviewed wiring diagrams and MCS part number components between trim levels, and started to see similarities and ultimately felt it can be done. With the help of @ZooDad , we drilled down on part numbers, firmware and configurtations and strategy, and narrowed down all the variables. Was I willing to spend $2500 new OEM MCS components and take the risk that it didn't work......NO. But when I sourced used MCS components from a MY22 F350 Platty for a reasonable price, I jumped in and figured if it didn't work, then I was only out a few $. I also just felt like my rig was not complete with Ford stripping away my MCS. So I dove in and after the install and some programing assistance from @ZooDad, it worked.

YMMV, but I can tell you I really enjoying having the MCS as does my wife, so it was a great mod to add for myself...and my rig feels complete to me now. @ZooDad and @DriftwoodTremor and I hope that the info provided will be of some assistance to others interested in doing this mod.

For those on the fence about MCS, I strongly encourage you to try them, particularly on a long road trip.

They help significantly with ass-soreness. No, they are not as good as a shiatsu massage from some dodgy strip-mall massage joint, but they help.

I've generally found the naysayers about any feature to be people who couldn't afford the package that has that feature. We've all heard it: "Just one more part that could fail!!". We've heard it about the moon roofs, about the power boards, about the winches, about the MCS seats, ad nauseum. I have all of the above, and wouldn't own a truck without them. Window regulators are just one more part that could fail - why don't we go in and out of the windows like Dale Earnhardt!?

At the end of the day, MCS is a nice feature. Even if it were to fail, you still have a nicer, more comfortable seat.
