Show me your Starlink mounts (or ones you’ve seen)

When a saw that, I thought now finally a reason for the Pano-roof. Not for me, but great idea if you have to have one.

I get the Starlink application in general. I'm not grasping the "I need this while driving down the road." concept.

Don't get me wrong I'm following this thread because I want to get a Starlink setup, but for my cargo trailer camper conversion. I did put a roof vent in the trailer if that counts.

I know what StarLink is/does. Some people post StarLink download speeds while driving.....I'm not sure what purpose that is being met with StarLink in use while driving.

I got the files off Printables.com, and had a buddy print it for me. I swap it between trucks though, so instead of hard mounting it I used 90 lbs magnets for feet. I toss it on the truck and plug it in. Takes 10-15 seconds tops.

Yes sir. That’s my main use for it. I work in lots of dead zones, and tend to play in them just as often. Being able to communicate with the wife and/or customers is a huge benefit to me. The ability to stream and surf the web is secondary. Sometimes I get stuck in BFE for 12-24 hours at a time waiting on customers, and having high speed internet is a lifesaver to kill the boredom.

I run a truck bed camper, so I’ve got a full electrical buildout with dedicated battery in the bed of my truck. In my company truck I just toss it on the toolbox and go. However I’ve got a 120V plug in the bed, and have used that so far. I’m thinking about running a cable into the cab, and using it instead though. It’s only a matter of time before my 120V plug gets slammed by tools or equipment on the nasty lease roads I drive. With a dedicated cable ran inside I can mostly mitigate that.

I bought a 10ft and 6ft cable to run it off 12V. Doesn’t have an issue that way. However trying to run it off the 45 ft cable the starlink comes with on 12V is a no go.

I would do the same but I run the cable to my trailer when we’re camped since it has a 660 ah battery bank vs the single house battery I have in the truck.

with a ton of streaming last month I was only at 86GB. My bill came out to $86. Still a ton cheaper than the unlimited plan.

Suction cups for me. Each one holds around 200lbs if I recall. I check them each morning and can reach them from the back door of my camper without a ladder or any kind of step.

I wanted something removable since technology changes sooooooooooo fast and I’m sure this won’t be the last dish I have on the roof.

That said if I had T track or L track on the roof making a simple bracket that spans the track and gives infinite mounting options would be even better.

Bottom line I didn’t want to be stuck with one mounting location and so far over 15k miles these have given me zero trouble.

Oh great now you have a 10lb weight to fall on you in addition and to all the shattered glass when the sunroof fails catastrophically.

Correct. They’re absolutely bomber. Tbf my camper is painted glass so they stick very very well.
