Show me your Starlink mounts (or ones you’ve seen)

I got my savageutv Ford mount today. It looks great so far and easy to install. I also got the locked Mini mount with the kit. For about $300 I feel like it’s a good option. I did add a little PPF underneath the two rubber mounts that come in contact with the roof.

The PPF hopefully addresses the main concern I had with this mount. The hardwiring was the second.

How’s the locking mount work? I don’t recall seeing that the last time I looked at it.

Technically it’s not locking, it’s just a super long Allen wrench they provide.

Ya it's the Savageutv "Hail Guard". I wasn't sure if it was necessary but I got it for inclement weather.

All these poor mounts will be replaced once Starlink makes the Micro-Mini .

details please bc I have a Bakflip as well and have thought about this pretty heavily, I could use the 5th wheel power plug or my soon to be 12v drop to power that.

That's what I was wondering, the Bakflip though I think is alum so I was wondering how he was getting around that, ie a big mag on the other side or like a metal plate (think like what you get for magnet phones that 3m down). I thought about the Swarf kit or even a headache rack bc I want high mount lights but for me it's the random parking decks and garage that I park in that worries me. I typically do not use drivethru carwash.

sweet man thanks, did you hardwire through the bakflip with a grommet or just route it from the front? I didn't see any loose wires so it might just come up between the bed and cab. Are the mag mounts on the bakflip just 3m stickied down or did you actually bolt them through and seal the holes?

Through the front of the bedcover on the headwall. Left the extra cabling tied up behind my inbed toolbox. Then ran the cord out the bed plug headwall grommets where my bedcover drains go. Down the frame up to the upfitter wiring. Wham bam. Thank you ma’am

Anyone ever run their power to the SL Mini off an up-fitter switch?? (likely the 1-4 would be best)
Is that too much power (amps) through the SL Mini power cable (or aftermarket offerings)??

Seems as the nature of the SL is needing more "power/amps/voltage" to help prevent signal drop. Since there is a wide input allowance (12-48V) there's the SL need (seems to be 60-100W max) of power. I want to guess the math works out for lower voltage but higher amps means larger gauge wiring. Hence higher voltage means lower amps, smaller gauge wire should be able to handle the draw.

Would that mean the SL Mini power cable is the weak link driving the need for a higher applied voltage at a lower amperage??

Honestly my first plan was to just feed the SL Mini off an up-fitter (now 1-4). Research lead me down the rabbit trails of add-on converters, PD power adapters, larger gauge cables.....UUUUGGGGhhhhh. Stuck in the AP rut for how to feed this thing.

I have been running the Tmo/Starlink beta on my VzW phone for a couple weeks now..works pretty well.
Mounts, dishes, routers will all be replaced with a TMo cell with Starlink...Just waiting to July, release date to switch my cell to TMo. One of the reasons I haven't upgraded my gen 2 dish...
