Show me your Starlink mounts (or ones you’ve seen)

This one reminds me of the fuel mileage topic; call me weird but I am always getting different results versus what everyone else sees.

Perhaps its due to our open terrain but I can EASILY get over 100 feet and now that this question has been brought up, I am really going to stretch it to see what it truly is.

I keep the mini on suction cups, inside the glass of the panoramic roof.

Edited: now that you guys got me really thinking about this; I have even had signal similar to @McE but 120' +- down a draw in a very brushy and mountainous terrain. It wasn't the best signal (IIRC, maybe a bar or two?) but I had SL signal.

I'll probably purchase directly from Starlink. I'll wait for a few days first and see if the stock magically replenishes at Cabela's after their add on discount has passed.

Watch ebay...unless you just have to have to new hotness...I saved 300 bucks vs retail from starlink.
Works just as well..I have the Roam unlimited plan.

I can get service 150yds from the router. At least that's the distance from the router to the swimming hole in front of the cabin, works fine there.

Dang now you guys have me thinking about returning the standard version and getting the mini. Probably should have asked this question before I made the purchase

for what it's worth

the standard is a larger receiver, rated at a stronger output signal & faster throughput.

the mini advantage is it's a single enclosed unit, receiver & modem, but smaller reciever, weaker output signal & slower throughput.

Remember StarLink Mini uses the older Wifi 6 that only around 150' obstructed and up to 300' line of site. And that doesn't count the casing, mount, location ...

You can always get the new StarLink Mini router Kit. I ordered it, it's only $40.00. Can be hard wired or act as a node, so if you could get 100+' from the truck and have this at the camp running on a small power bank it would be pretty awesome.

I don't need it when I am moving, down load onx maps for offline use, and the truck inverter will work when I am parked/camped. Got the standard, cables and router all in 13 gallon husky tote from HD, picked up some 3d printed foam inserts off etsy....lol

Do you know if it has a dedicated backhaul for the mesh? That would actually be pretty legit.

Their full-sized routers have it and it's compatible, but this is all it says about it. I don't know if the antenna specs lets you know. Plus in the app you can turn on pass through and make it the main router. I don't have it yet, but think it's going to be handy for $42.90 to my door.

I have only seen it as an add on when you buy the Mini on their main page. But in the StarLink App you can buy it. Hit your profile symbol in the top right corner and then click on "shop", it will be there plus some mounts and cables.

I bought mine at Best Buy and was never an option.

I kept checking Cabela's and it popped back up as in stock this morning. I had a few hundred $ of points + qualified for free shipping so it cost me $100 out of pocket. Shipping directly from Starlink.

I just tried the reach of the mini under my current conditions and as shown below, I lost one bar which I’m suspecting its due to the high voltage transmission lines over me.

I am about 330+- feet from the antenna on this capture.

Okay SL gurus...help me out here.

With regards to the use of the Mini, Standard, or Flat High Performance antenna on a vehicle :

I may need to explain the differences but I'd use the pics I've found as the better guide since typing is hard to interpret sometimes.
