Rossmonster Truck Build – 2024 F350 (long wheelbase)

Skottle????? In a Rossmonster????

Unacceptable! Traeger makes a portable grill. That is suitable for a rig like this!!! Skottle??? What do you think you’re building? A Tacoma!!!!
Ok, ok - point taken :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I've been wondering about this for quite a while already. Thank you for sharing. I know what I will be doing next year (this year may be too late should we get early snow + I have plans to head into Montana and Idaho for the maiden voyage).

Without a doubt @TRAMPER has the best content / responses on this Forum.

@Optimus is a VERY CLOSE second

What can I say? I like to make people laugh! It’s nice when the internet doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I gotta say I’ve seen a few @Optimus posts that are pretty great! Mostly involving scantily clad women….

I think maybe you and I have a similar sense of humor. Either way thank you for the kind words.

Quite some progress since the last time I posted pictures. I talked to them today about the delivery date (09/30) but it sounds like there will not be much room for an earlier completion which is a bummer, but it is what it is. Some parts seem on backorder, but I did not ask for details. I'll live.

A lot of work happened on the cabinetry. Cabinet doors and drawers have been installed. I see drill holes for the handles/locks to get installed. The shower/wet bath door is installed. They started working on the flooring. The Aqua-Hot 125G hydronic heating system for heat/hot water has been installed (at least the inside cabin part). Below the shower are the heat dispensers. I do not see the control unit for it yet. It may be inside the cabinet next to the door. It looks like all the plumbing is also in (including sink), and I see the lines for the outside shower + the electrical wire for the shore power connection (on the picture that shows the Aqua-Hot), which is outside next to the outside shower controls. The upper (above) cabinet light strips have been installed. The fridge is also in its place, but it looks like not fully secured just yet.

I have a 2021 ford SD tremor with a Hallmark 2005 camper with all the options. I had a new one piece fiberglass roof and siding put on it a few months ago Ya like new. Added solar system. Truck and camper $100,000. I’ll join the peasant club soon.
Cheers 🍻

Hey, whatever gets you out there is good. I am not necessarily betting the ranch, but I know that I am very fortunate to do this. But even if not - I would still figure out a way how to do this in one way or the other. Kudos to you!!!!!!

Here is my ride in northwest Colorado. No man’s land out there.

The "Truck Campers Only, w/ an Overland & Off-roading theme" thread, located at the link below, would be a great place for such posts (rather than in someone's build thread). Here is the link. https://www.fordtremor.com/threads/truck-campers-only-w-an-overland-off-roading-theme.16428/
Come on over and share the details and pics of your great looking rig over there. (y) Edit: I see that you've already posted over there so maybe you just mixed up this build thread for that thread. I have done that before, and had to move my own posts. Easy to post into the wrong thread so many great ones (I have multiple open at any given time!)

The work has shifted more and more to the systems side of things. The Victron battery monitor and the Aqua-Hot control panel have been installed. The Firefly control panel is also installed and seems to be fully programmed. Starlink (Router and Power Supply) has been installed as well. It also seems like more work on the electrical side was done. It seems they are pretty far in the overall progress. I am still quietly hoping they do an "under-promise and over-deliver" type of thing, haha. The almost daily updates are like crack, I swear

Quite a camper my friend. Quite a camper.

Sometimes I wonder when will I wake up from this dream and see a beat-up RAM in my driveway carrying a home-made shed in the back lol
I won’t lie I’m looking forward to seeing it in person for a month and a half on the way to Tuk and back…

Any particular reason you went with Victron in this build? I watched your video yesterday of "lessons learned" and you switched everything from Victron to Redarc because of being undersized. I know both are good and widely used so I'm curious the decision factors for this.

I also work remotely in software so seeing this build really has my brain in overland thinking "what if" :ROFLMAO:

The Redarcs made good sense in the Supertramp from a space, functionality, and installation location perspective. Otherwise I would have needed two solar controllers and at that time the new 100A DC/DC charger wasn't out yet from Victron (or just released). But working with the existing space made the Redarcs a good choice. The Victron equipment from my previous rig was good quality, but just not sized properly.

Rossmonster uses primarily Victron as it also hooks into the control panel which is a Firefly system.

I received 24 pictures today. Some redundant or not necessarily telling anything unless you really look for the update in a picture (example: electrical stuff). Others have me sitting here in awe and staring at the screen. I need to talk to them to find out what is still missing at this point and if they still think it will be until the end of September for the delivery day. Based on the pictures I have identified a few things that are missing, but I think I better ask as I am sure that there is a bit more. As an example, I don't think the rear seat conversion has been completed yet, but that is just of a few things I know are missing.

Anyway, here is what I have today. The dinette area looks almost finished (back cushions are missing). My custom table looks fantastic. This table a) has a foldable leg and b) slides left or right to make space on the opposite side of the dinette. One would gently lift it at the front and then slide it over. That will allow me to have my work setup (monitor, laptops, keyboard) on the table and at the end of the day just move the table out of the way. No more setting up in the morning and taking it down at night. That alone is so important to me and seeing this now come to life, I am in love.

The lower cabinets now have handles and locking mechanisms. Toe kick lights are in, but some of the flooring is still missing.

Onto the outside. The two rear storage boxes have been mounted. The entrance step has been sealed, and the protective flooring is installed. When it is all done, there will be a teak insert. The AMP step is in place as well. If you zoom in on the rear bumper license plate area, you can even see the factory rearview camera that was in the tailgate.

Got my daily dose of "Baja" just a few minutes ago. The flooring has been completely installed. The teak insert for the entrance is in place - the one for the shower/wet bath as well, but no picture just yet. The cut-out for the sink was added. It can be used as a cutting board or backsplash. Speaking of backsplash, at one point in the future I may get something custom made for both countertop areas. I've seen one Baja that had a CNC made topo map aluminum backsplash which looked nice, but I am not a big fan of the topo design. It is everywhere these days and I think I want something more special. We will see. I am sure I will come up with ideas once I am able to spend some time on the road.

The first foam cut-out for my hidden storage is in. Apparently, I was the first customer to request using that specific space between the shower and the truck cab. I know from other Instagram pictures that they ran with the idea, and it is at least in one other truck as well. There is enough space to store my portable induction cooktop, monitor, and my laptops.

One of the pictures of the dinette shows how the sliding table setup works. The dinette looks awesome in my opinion. I think I watched every Baja tour on their YouTube channel 6-7 times (if not more) to borrow ideas and then played with them until I felt comfortable with the design layout I went with.
