Project Black Cherry

I was looking at the 7 light linkable in my future.....did you have a problem with the lights blocking the camera?
You lose the bottom 1/3 of the camera view.

Below is a shot from our 2022 truck running this setup:

We have the same setup going on our 2024 soon as well.
Too me....the linkable kit just looks better but as you said it might not pass enough light. Do you have any pics on how it looked in the camera? Also curious on the lenses you had in your lights. As you know....way to many variables for this.

Still love the look of your truck!
If you're wanting to do the XL-Linkable, but want to increase the brightness, we can make you a custom XL-Linkable with XL80s instead of XL Sports. We've done this for a number of customers on Raptors and Super Duty, happy to chat with you more about it if you'd like.

I ran whatever they came with... LP6 are WAY better.

I run the linkable setup with the XL80s and am very happy for my application. Have never had it side by side with the LP6s so can’t say how it compares. As an added bonus, upgrading to the XL80s requires two circuits. My outside lights (4 total) are yellow/amber and the 3 center lights are white, switched independently.

Forgot i had this thread. It's long overdue for an update. Am i going to get the ban-hammer if i discuss putting the truck on a diet?
Your post might get deleted 🤪.

Not from me! These trucks run so much better with a proper tune. Way better throttle response, no lag, tons of power and up to 4 mpg better. On my admp tune, I get no smoke and surprisingly it’s very quiet with the 5 inch straight pipe. I think allot of this has to do with turbo vane position.

On another note, my oil is the color of honey with 4 k on it, not coal black. I realize the color doesn’t really matter, lab tests do, but it just shows you what egr does.

Awesome thread! Have a question if you don’t mind and figured would go straight to the source. I’m somewhat Carli familiar (have an e-venture equipped 450) but I’m dominator curious on the tremor I just picked up. How much lift do you realize with the dominator kit? Also I know it’s impossible to quantify but the increase in body roll - are we taking raptor levels of roll? Just trying to get an idea - strongly leaning this direction anyways for what it offers off pavement. Also liking the idea of sticking with a “dumb” system on this one over the electronic. Thanks!!!

And since we're on the subject and this is Carli's thread (so to speak), here is another observation I picked up (as I haven't stressed enough aboug going through everything with a fine-tooth comb), sway bar end links:

I have the V.1 which have these sets screws on the joint ends to prevent them from unscrewing.

Guess what?

The set screws went missing. :sneaky:

I went to ACE Hardware and picked out some generic set screws, dabbed on some loctite and screwed them in place.

We'll see how long this lasts.

You pay the price when you use your rig.

The never-ending story....
I have some with set screws and newer ones with out. either way , high maintence end links

I run the 5.5" Dominator on mine; i can shoot you measurements of whatever you're after, but detailed it here for this exact reason: https://www.carlisuspension.com/2024-super-duty-3-5-vs-5-5/

Body roll isn't bad at all, even at the 5.5" lift height. Truck runs awesome, but it is a bit more than the E-Venture system being that it's not actively controlling the body roll. The 3.0" damper is crazy - It's really hard to quantify the difference between the two, but i can tell you i don't miss my E-Venture one bit, lol.

That's awesome to hear - have a dom kit inbound right now! Hoping to get it on next week and see what she can do.

Totally worth every bit of maintenance this component requires.

By far, the best upgrade you can give an SD is adding this from Carli.

Awesome - stoked to see the build and get your feedback; I am in love with my Dominator system.

They're really not... You need to completely neglect them to have an issue. I pulled mine off to test the new style and my original links (without the set screws) are in perfect shape after 70K miles of use. I've greased them a couple times in that duration and, when i greased them, checked the caps to ensure they were tight. They're in perfect shape aside from being dirty.

I am not saying you're wrong, maybe some are more finicky than others, but I've only seen the issue once in person and it was on Sage Carli's truck. He completely neglected them and it took 50K for his to have an issue. All parts were there, so i cleaned them and reinstalled them and he's good 10K later.

What grease do you recommend. I've just now finally completed my full Carli pintop install.

Any recommendations on where to add grease?

We use Redline CV2 grease; it's the best around. On a pintop, the sway bar links and fabricated radius arms are the main surviceable joints.
