Anyone know the part number for the oem rear gasket? Thanks!
When you guys install a new cover do you use any sort of sealant? If so what do you use? I’m going to probably replace mine with the Banks (because I can) just for the ease of draining and filling without having to take the cover off. I like to replace all my fluids every 25k miles and I’ll be there pretty soon.
You'll want to use Motorcraft TA-31 silicone sealant: https://amzn.to/41RnWwcWhen you guys install a new cover do you use any sort of sealant? If so what do you use? Will the banks cover for with the Hellwig sway bar installed?
The Banks website says they will not fit the Sterling (12 bolt) rear-end with a swaybar. Doesn’t say anything about the Dana (14 bolt). Will the banks cover for with the Hellwig sway bar installed?

As an alternative to OEM sealant, this works very well on sealing up diffsYou'll want to use Motorcraft TA-31 silicone sealant: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Ford-TA-31-Silicone-Sealant/dp/B000NUD02W
The sealant is usually for if there is no gasket. I don't believe you need both.you put sealant on both sides of the gasket?
Correct; no sealant should be needed for 11.6 rear cover due to gasket. The sealant is usually for if there is no gasket. I don't believe you need both.
I think its in the PPE instructions...I'll have to look later today.Ok thanks, that's what I thought. I have an oem gasket on the way.
I could have sworn I saw the torque spec somewhere in here, but I can't find it now. Anyone know?

When i ordered my 3 from PPE, they had different part numbers for raw, powder coated etc?I added a note when ordering to see if they could powder coat the cover before sending it. It shipped pretty quick, so guess that was "no". I'll get it powered coated over the next few weeks and install it in a few months. PPE also came out with what looks like a compatible transmission pan, but that's out of stock, so hoping to confirm compatibility with the 23 gas engines so I can get that in and service all of it at the same time.
Yeah, for other products I've seen the option to choose the finish. For the diff cover, they didn't offer the option so I figured it didn't hurt to ask. A quick search online looks like I can get it powder coated for $50 - $100When i ordered my 3 from PPE, they had different part numbers for raw, powder coated etc?
