In case anyone was waiting for the Sterling 11.6 Diff Cover. I kept hounding Banks and they do not intend to make one for the foreseeable future...

They also apply military and first responder discounts. Cheers!

Banks is becoming the "one and done" business that doesn't come up with anything new anymore.
(insert shocked face) :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for posting the link to the PPE cover.
I am assuming that Ford will be building a lot of super dutys with the 11.6 rear axle. Looks like Banks is missing a lot of sales.
(unless they know something we don't know)

Ohhhh shittttt!!!!

"..is becoming..."
Hence leaving the world behind of a business built behind products for the enthusiasts.
There's plenty of companies with long industry histories that make changes and get wrapped up in a culture versus staying focused on core objectives. Banks has left behind PLENTY of opportunities to continue development of products or even abandoned products entirely. The Big Three don't make it easy I'd suppose. BUT with the long industry history you would think Banks had SOME sort of inside track. Yet....Ford products seem to lock out Banks from moving forward on some aspects of the "needs/wants" of the enthusiasts out there.

Example :
> Exhaust systems in aluminized steel?? No big deal...but...NO offering for a T409 version?? Huh????
> No CAC intercoolers with improved airflow/cooling or improved piping kits. Seems WAY too easy. (Circa 2010 was the last one)
> No real water-methanol products for the newer trucks (or older). Used to be a BIG Banks talking point for diesels.
> Never created any sort of plug-n-play MAF device to help prevent CEL with larger intake systems. (WHY?)
> As above posted...not going to produce the famed rear diff cover?? Really??
> Maybe the 2020+ trucks will get the Derringer. Albeit late to the party as Edge has Emissions On tuning out.

We all have our perspective. Given the current product offerings of air intakes kits, exhausts, the pedal device, and gauge devices I see Bank's as a High School cheerleader captain in her late 50's talking as if they are still the best on the field. Nah....no you are not. There's better out there in quite a few areas.

I think you need to look at the product you want to "upgrade".

We all know older trucks are still out there. How much do you invest into a shrinking community?? Compared to the costs of a growing community??

Cool story....there are companies STILL making 7.3L PowerStroke performance products as well as NEW performance products for those trucks. Just sayin'......

You have way more energy than I do, great articulation, although I am not in agreement 100%!!! 😉 As long is your at my finger tips I feel secure!!

@trmrzla : I gave this another thought so I'll add it here. Do business with whatever company answers the phone, talks to you like a human, answers your questions, and gives you the option to spend your money the way you want.

I for one have gotten to the point where there's LOTS of companies making quality parts/products. Want my money?? Listen to me, answer my questions, correct any misconceptions I have, and leave it up to me.
I can tell you I send an email to one rifle company that I like, THEY CALL ME directly to answer the question. Another truck product company answers my call, takes the time to understand my questions, and gives me their answers.

Guess where I spend my money...I'll give you the first two guesses for free.:cool:

As we value you as a customer, your rate plan for tech service will NOT be increasing in 2025 sir! We appreciate your continued use of our services. Thanks for the support!!:love::love:😜😜

Looking at the pictures it seems the internal ribs are perpendicular to the ring gear oil path…most of the pinion bearing oiling happens as the ring gear slings gear oil up the cover and over the ring gear towards the pinion. If the oil flow is disrupted by those horizontal ribs I’m not sure I’d throw that on my truck…stock is better in that case.

Look at where the differential oil fill plug is located, likely that's the "fill to here". So the ring gear will be sitting in oil to that level. Once moving the whole internal cavity of oil turns into a washing machine of oil flowing in all directions. So as the differential oil rooster tails off the ring gear there is enough slinging over the top of the ring gear.

Yes I see that, I was just remarking how the oil flow will be blocked some as the ring gear starts turning by those horizontal ribs. To each their own, just pointing out what stuck out to me.

This is what PPE says…

  • Internal scrapers prevent excessive churning: reducing heat, aeration, and power loss

Anyone heard if they plan to offer it in different finishes?

Just spoke with Banks and as stated above, they have no plans to make a cover for the 16 bolt 11.6 diff.

You guys know what fluid and how much???

Im a pretty big amsoil fan. Their severe gear is great, and the pouches make an easy fill. Im just curious of the weight and volume. Im sure I can look it up I guess.

why would banks bother with the 11.6 at this stage. is this its first or second year in production ? who knows how long it will even be around. and its only used in some ford trucks.
if you look at other covers banks offers. aa11.5 has been around 20yr in ram and gm. the newer 11.5/12.0 aam is now on its 6th year in ram and gm
