Other Rides

Other ride is a 2021 Jeep 392 Rubicon that’s on Dynatrac XD 60/60 axles, 5.38 gears, E-Lockers, Metalcloak 3.5” lift, KMC Beadlocks, 40” Cooper STT tires, PSC Hydro Assist, frame welded rock sliders, onboard air and a bunch of other crap done to it. It gets wheeled pretty damn hard. Just had to replace the rear driveshaft that I destroyed in under 7K miles. Mainly wheel at Uwharrie in NC and try to go to Windrock in TN once a year. Tremor is my daily driver & tow pig for this setup and my boat.

Well as some may recall I've been hinting, threatening, promising, warning, kidding, even dreaming of going old school back to my youth and getting a basic and simple, even analog old truck just to spite all this runaway tech and complexity. Well I finally stumbled on the right truck and it's only a couple hours away. I'll be closing the deal on Saturday and if the weather permits I'll be bringing this old Girl home that day.

1985 F250 XLT Explorer 2wd 460 4spd. AM radio, crank windows and no AC. Don't get much simpler than that.

In 1985, massaging seats came from out of balance tires or bad U-joints. :ROFLMAO:

My 1995 F250. One of the most dependable trucks I've ever owned. I haven't
been able to part with it since I bought my new truck but, that's ok. View attachment 232629
these were meant for the post above.

Yeah, that's the "MegaCab". Makes the short bed look really short. Provides a ton of room behind the rear seats and allows the rear seats to recline - my daughter loves it on long trips. The nose of the horse trailers tappers in enough that clearance from trailer to cab isn't an issue even at 90 degree + angle on the trailer, but a wider nose like on a 5th wheel RV would defintely require extra care not to crunch the cab. Been a great truck overall, creeping up on 100K miles, hence the F450 order.

The funny thing is the mega cab and the Ford crew cabs are nearly the same size, it's all in where the extra space is. More leg room in the Ford.

that's right - the space is behind the rear seat in the megacab. More legroom in the Ford, but the backseat passengers do miss the abilty to recline the seats on long drives.
