I built this folder about 7 years ago for myself, spent all winter on it...then, when I finished it...I liked it too much to carry it. Now, I just look at it and smile. I heat treated (colored) a damascus twist pattern steel using 1084 and 15n20 steels, soft metals mokume bolsters and Black Gaboon Ebony wood handles. The German micro files came out of the drawer for a long process of doing the vinework on the liners. Now...at my age, I just look at the things I've made and listen to my old hands ache from it...but, I still smile taking an Advil over it. View attachment 202066View attachment 202067

Also have a couple from a super talented knife maker, Spencer Aplin. This is copper San Mai steel with a fossil walrus ivory handle.

I love knives. I use them so it’s hard to “collect” them. Standard issue in my pocket is benchmade and MKC. They are a tool to be used not a shiny object on your mantel but some are definitely art work.

My EDC is a benchmade but when I’m on the trail and hunting I have my MKC in my pocket and a second on in my pack

Been going back and forth on a speedgoat or mini speedgoat for EDC…any recommendation?

I carry a Benchmade Griptilian for the service and they’re local to me but some of the awesome knives in here have me wanting to spend some money again.

Carry this and a few extra bits in my fifth pocket
I've also got a few shitty "show" knives I've been given as gifts through life. Other than that I have a few fiskars axes, hatchets, and laupers

Awesome! When I was younger I had a Cold Steel tanto like the top middle one in your display.. Abused that blade and it took it all.. Tuff stuff

@36general , your plan "B" is very similar to my main carry. Being a Star Wars geek and more pointed Boba Fett, my sister found that knife in his colors and Mythosaur skull inscribed. The pic I posted below is off their website as I was just too lazy to take on my phone.
