Knife Collections, Knives, EDCs

This is terrible news, absolutely beautiful knives.

I hate to say it, but the burglars are probably known to @OldFart in some way or another. Just my experience as a Cop when a burglary involves very special items.

Well, shoot...a couple more that I had just finished this winter. Sadly, my locked shop was broken into last Wednesday night, and these as well as many of my smithing tools and other things were taken. I've decided at my age now, I'm too old to work this hard on building these - only to see them taken like this so, I'm trimming the wick down now in my shop for good and no longer going to make them anymore. It's getting pretty sad out there, fellas...guard your stuff the best you can. ☹️

Man your knives are top notch craftsmanship. That top knife is pure art.

Sorry to hear about break in and thieves. That’s truly a shame.

I have many Benchmade and Microtech options. More collector type are these from a local bladesmith, Blue Jay Blade Works. 2 Smaller ones are fordite scales from the Jeep plant on Ohio. As i own 2 jeeps, almost. 392 on order.

I inherited several knives from my father in law after his passing. Most of them are wood, antler, or bone handles, not something I need/use. Most still have the original price tags. Anyone know of a place to sell these? I live in central Indiana and would hate to just throw them away... I'll work on getting some photos

Just a thought, reach out to charity places in your area to possibly raffle them off for benefits to help others. You'd be surprised how much they will garnish when it comes to helping the needy. I donate a lot of my work to help parents with sick children. Their medical insurance covers a lot but, it's the other things like, lodging, gas, food they need in getting that child to the places where they must travel to get the treatment they need.

If you ever make it to the Gatlinburg, TN area you need to stop at the Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville. Probably 20,000 SF retail store of nothing but knives. Plan on spending 3 or 4 hours to take it all in. When my oldest son was 10 we were on vacation in the area and I let him pick out his first pocket knife. My younger son was 8 and I told him he needed to wait. 2 years later we were at Cabela's and I saw him eyeing pocket knives. I asked him if he was ready for his first one and did he have one picked out. He said, Nope! I want to go to Tennessee to get my knife. A month later it was his birthday so he and I did a father/son trip to Sevierville. Drove down, spent the night, ate breakfast, got his pocket knife, drove home. Probably one of my favorite memories of all time!

Holy smokes what a cool thing. Reading that brings a happy tear to me eye! 🏁

I was due for a new EDC knife and after a ton of research I settled on the TRM Bulldog Rev B with titanium scales and a Magnacut blade. Top notch quality and the “ting” that it make when I flick it open is intoxicating.

Nice! I'd like to hear that. 🏁

Well, since all my knifemaking stuff was stolen a few days ago, I decided to bend some round stock I had into a blade to bide my time...still pissed off from the thievery. No leads so far. Insurance has been working with me pretty well and said they wouldn't drop me after my claim...I sure hope they don't.

^ ^ ^ I don't think I've ever seen such creativity in a knife handle or blade. Good grief.

You amaze us, sir.

🏁

I’ve carried folders for years, but mostly Kershaws, then a CRKT and currently a Benchmade Mini Osborne.

This is my first Spyderco. I remember when I thought they were expensive at $100…
