Forscan for 2022

Question for you guys that have activated the Bambi mode W/ forscan. I believe it allows the fogs to be on with the high beams. Does your auto dimming function still work ok with the fogs on too?

Ok, thanks. My chevy‘s auto dimming does not work if I turn on the fogs. I don't know if there is a similar Forscan software for chevy, but don’t matter now since I’m hoping to have the new F250 sometime next month.

I dont know a thing about the GM stuff, but my 17, 21, and 22 all auto dim with the fogs on and with bambi mode.

Disabled the double honk and added the temps to the gauge cluster earlier today (22MY). I learned how to calculate the checksum values up front so I don't get the error message - even though it updates automatically. I did some interweb searching but didn't find a clear answer but figured it out... Had to brush up on hexadecimal!

I am learning my way around Forscan and I believe you can update the AS-BUILT and it will calculate the new checksum for you. I always want to understand what is happening and not leave anything to chance, however. You may not need to do this, but I would rather not have the error message pop up if possible.

For the gauge temps we are talking about this memory address:

720-07-01

8401

0AA0

0866

The checksum is the "66" in the last two characters (one byte). For my particular configuration I needed to change the middle string from "0AA0" to "0A50" to enable the display of temps. The checksum is doing nothing more than checking the summation of all the bytes of data (represented in two character hexadecimal). Since I am only changing one character it is easier to think of this as a difference - "A0" to "50" is a reduction of "50" in hexadecimal so the checksum reduces from "66" to "16"

You can sum up all the bytes (7+20+07+01+84, etc) and get to the same answer although there are other nuances to consider. It is easier if you use the difference method.

I plugged that in, no error message, everything works fine.

Used forscan when I had the '17 F-150. Will use it again when I get the tremor. The double honk is so bloody annoying. Disable all startup noises and adjust TPMS pressures. Just to start.

Yep did some Forscan today getting ready for new tires and rims next week. TMPS adjusted as well. Anyone figured out the tire size adjustment for 37's? I am using the 2021 spreadsheet on the F-150 forum.

There’s two lists for many of the categories, one is listed as built as, and the other isn’t. One or the other is plain English usually when there’s two selection choices.

It’s in the plan English section in MM. then you need to do a computer reset so it will relearn the new wheel size and not throw a code. I think I found which resets to do on Ford trucks forum. There were 2. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

I need some of these items done when I get my truck. The double honk is the most ridiculous thing. I think I will do bambi mode, as well. I love having more gauge options, too.

I watched some dude do this on YouTube a while back, seems pretty slick and easy, given it was Sync 3. Is the Sync 4 the same process for you guys?
