Forscan for 2022

In on forscan for the first time for my 2022 that’s scheduled for Sept 13. I have the connector and laptop…..ready to learn!
My main interest is in changing the TPMS threshold.

You can change those with this test version, plain English, no hex entry at all for that. You go to the tpms setting I’ve listed and type the PSI threshold (placard) you want, I put 40/40.

Yeah you’ll need Windows or dual boot. This is the adapter I’ve used, worth the cost, no dropped Bluetooth connections. Fast.

Download VirtualBox for mac for free and grab a Windows 7 image online.

No dual boot required

Thanks will look into the dual boot/emulator thing & see what’s easiest for a computer idiot & budget in a cabled OBD reader

from what I understand you don’t need to use spreadsheets and changes values, but can skip that and use plain English to change simple values like tire pressure, Bambi mode and the double honk thing & have mirrors fold in when turning off motor

We only have Macs in my house these days (not counting my work computer and my son's school chromebook). When ever I need Windows, I use VirtualBox (which is free) and a surplus Windows 10 Pro license I bought for <$10 from keysoff.com. If you already have a Windows 10 license you can use, then don't need to spend a dime to get Windows running on your Macbook. My wife's Macbook doesn't have a lot of storage space in it, so the windows install she uses is actually just saved on an SD card and it runs just fine that way.

Right on. I wasn’t thinking of the virtual machine pathway, virtual box, etc., which would probably also work fine, I’ve just not done it for critical flashing applications. Theoretically that should work fine tho.

I haven't tried it personally... yet. But, in some of my research a while back to learn what ForScan is, I came across info on the ForScan website about how to use it on a Mac through running Windows as a virtual machine. They pointed out that it is important to use a USB OBD adapter and that some models work more reliably than others.

Gotcha. Yeah I’ve done a decent amount of work in virtual machine, but I would definitely steer clear of wireless modules for anything flash related, be it trucks or computers or… pick a thing. Hard to beat hardwired. But it sure can be convenient!

Went and set up Boot Camp and got windows 10, so I'm assuming now all I need is the forscan program and a cable/dongle thing as the bluetooth one could loose connectivity and that would be bad

Lol yeah it’s definitely different. Some people swear by Bluetooth adapters I’m sure but I don’t like leaving my PCM to chance with unexpected disconnections. Id go with the one I linked on Amazon a few posts back. Forscans cheap, and has a trial I think if you want to go that route. For what you get it’s a steal. Sounds like you’re on the right track!

Test Forscan for 22 MY - It will probably warn it's not a recognized file with antivirus etc., I got this directly from the developer. Not sure how long this link will work, so I'd grab it asap.

So now that I dwnloaded Forscan, I have to download this file and then install it into Forscan??

Will it automatically update if/when the file/program is updated??

Reading on Forscan's site, they only recomend the wireless one with the lite version running a app on a iPad or phone & since I'm not going that rooute, will be getting the cabled one they recomend. Besides, the Tremor won't be built till the end of next month, have lots of time to get my learn on

If you have Forscan with a trial license or full license, you should be able to just use this Forscan version from post 1 as the actual executable program. There’s a ton of YouTube videos on how to do the basics of Forscan, just make sure to save the original files for any module you want to mess with first. The other file at the beginning is a spreadsheet I threw together with the stuff I tried today that will make more sense once you put hands on the way Forscan works a little. Pretty straightforward but you’ve gotta see it to make sense IMO

I updated the original first post with the files to change the settings in forscan for model year 22 tremors. Use at your own risk - enjoy!

I downloaded the files you suggested and gave it a go. I made several adjustments successfully including bambi mode, double horn honk when key is out of the vehicle, tpms adjustment, blinker flash to 5, changed the splash screen to Raptor, and temp digital readout above dial reading.
Drove to work today, no issues.

Outstanding! I like to hear good news. The only adjustment I’m keeping an eye on is the def regen- it’s only showing 0% and got up to 5% and a few minutes later was back at 0 .

oh and the boost gauge won’t be an option if you add numbers above the gauges I’ve discovered. might change that back I’m not sure. Small differences.

Loving having SYNC4 - this truck is bad ass for sure.

Ok guys I took the risk and did some testing. I was able to have a test build of Forscan compiled and tested all of the items on this spreadsheet I'm linking. I pulled some the data for formatting from this forums' 2020 Forscan sheet that was compiled by another member. All the other codes and Sync 4 data I pulled from other sources and hex editing and a little bit of SWAG'ing.

The short version - if it's in dark blue on the spreadsheet, I manually tested it on my 2022 by changing alphanumeric values in the tables. The rest are able to be modified by changing the plain english menu choices in the files OTHER than "AS BUILT" and worked on my particular vehicle.

Here's the sheet I made as I tested and the Forscan I used to do so. Use at your own risk, your mileage might vary, etc. I took the risk and it worked out for me - but should you decide to use this information you do so at your own risk - I hope it helps out the group!

Mirrors to fold when you lock the truck is in your settings on your dash, no need for Forscan. I cannot access the spreadsheet this morning to tell you what the bambi mode is listed under.

Bambi runs fog lights with high beams, and you can set autofold on lock via the regular truck info screen under advanced settings I think (not Forscan- just regular speedometer area info screen/settings)- but it’s on that menu.
