Having install issue with mounting the brackets. The bottom bolt hole that connects to the long rail nut doesn’t match. My truck is a 2024. Did I get a bracket for another year ? I have the bracket tight/ snug to the frame and the hole don’t match. Anyone else have this problem? Sent a message to Harrison and waiting.

Oops! I’ve got the Torklift Front Tow Eco Hitch, and it slipped my mind until I had three cans of Busch.  Turns out, it’s not a match for the TrailGuard and the front tow hitch receiver! So, it took me a bit longer than planned to get it installed. I had to take off the front bumper, the front tow hitch, and put everything back together. Everything’s in place now, and I need to tweak the bumper up a bit. I’ll share some photos once it’s all sorted out.

A question for those that have installed theirs already. I was trying to get this lined up without smacking my factory front bumper too many times. I kept running into the same issue of the brackets on the bar hitting the lip circled in the picture. Was this an issue for anyone else?

I ran into the same issue, so I trimmed off the corners (left and right) to give the TrailGuard some space to fit and adjust. Here are a few pictures to show you what I did. I’ll need to touch up the cut ends with some paint.

I wrestled for about three hours with this last night on the driveway. I had to loosen the bumper to adjust only to find that the limited factor to raise it was the winch. To adjust the winch, I had to loosen four 19mm bolts with nuts, two on each side and then use a jack to raise it and then tighten while held up. It took a lot more effort to raise the winch than I thought. Once raised, I pushed the bumper up, only to find that it still would not clear the Trailguard, similar to @devildog's issue. By that time, I lost the day light and nad to eat dinner and get the kiddos to bed, so still unfinished.

Upfitter switches. I don't think the fog light circuit can handle the BD lights. You can also install a separate switch under the dash to turn them on and off.

I've got two DD SS6 6" bars in place of the factory fogs and wired into the circuit with just an adapter harness.

Perhaps the TrailGuard you received is for a 2017-2022 model? I believe there are two or three variations of the TrailGuard, depending on the year of the truck. I would verify this before proceeding.

They are all the same. The issues aren't the Trailguard but the other accessories that some had installed prior to the Trailguard that is impacting the installation. Can't blame the Trailguard for that.

Yeah, in this case, it was the installation of the factory winch option and needing to adjust the bumper. I talked to Harrison, and he advised me to bend the corners of the bumper, similar to how Heavyset trimmed his to get enough space for the brackets to mate. I'll give it a whirl tonight when I meet with the fabricator to get the fog lights mounted in the S2-intended position.

Not only does the box weigh around 45 pounds, it is VERY BULKY and UPS charges crazy money for large bulky packages.

That was the major challenge with the Outstandards group discount in that shipping sucked because the boxes are so big. When I ship with UPS, the size of the box really drives the prices, up to 50lbs. So a 10x10x10 box that weighs 1lb ships the same price as one that weighs 50lbs.

While weight does affect fuel use for ground transportation, the thing that any carrier cares about is space as larger boxes take up more space in the trailer.

What's crazy is that I had ordered a pallet of boxes from a company in NY 2 years ago and the they had a truck that delivered to Dallas for $150. They stopped working with that company and the next best option was UPS for $450 (more than the price of the order).

I wish I could help you there. I had a shop do it so don't know how they wired it to the fog light switch.

I'll see if my guy recalls how he did it (it's been a year or so since he did the installation).

Can't you just tap into the +12V wire feeding each fog light? Sounds pretty simple actually. You can also either grab the ground at the fog harness or ground each light to a chassis point in close proximity to the new lights.

Like everyone else it seems.
My BD Sae are hooked directly to my fog lights.
I bought this Harness and robbed the pieces I need. Then crimped on the adapter to the BD light.

That will work, but I prefer not to cut into factory wires. I’ll try searching for a plug-in adapter for a simpler installation.

Which aftermarket lights are you installing? I might be able to crimp/build you a harness.

I just cut my stock plug and crimped the BD terminals that come with the lights.
