Best Trailer Hitch - Thoughts?

I was kinda leaning toward the Gen Y hitch because of the pintle feature, but after seeing the kill pictures, I'm definitely sold on it.

i am glad i could help ahahahaha

They're all pretty awesome. Just buy one of each. I have the B&W and a Gen-Y.

... I think I need to spend less time in the forums.;)

Many of your better trailers have adjustable ball receiver heights, 19"-26" for example, so the drop adjustability in the ball hitch attachment becomes a little less relevant, but still a nice to have. I'd say take a look at your average utility trailer and boat trailer hitches that don't have that adjustability within their design and base your decision on that to keep them somewhat level if you go with a fixed drop, but most of your heavy tow trailers already have that give/take built-in to adjust for the tow-vehicle receiver height. Me, (once I get my truck), I'm going to get a weigh-safe ball hitch to determine how I need to load the trailer to get the least tongue weight.

Looks like Bullet Proof or Gen-Y

Thanks for all the input folks!

To you guys who went with the bullet proof hitch did you go with the medium duty or heavy duty. Also the f350 with the 7.3 is a 2.5 shank correct TIA

22k rated with 6" drop.
The shank on a 250 and 350 is 2.5"
10k lbs in the pic, was a little tongue heavy with load but hauled like nothing.

I have had normal hitches from autozone/home depot, weigh-safe, and bullet proof hitches. Both my weigh-safe and bullet proof hitches use the 3" shaft. That is one of my favorite parts. I like having too much and not being concerned tow ratings.

I really like the weigh-safe drop hitch. However, it does not support it being in the raised position. I needed this for my M1102 trailer that is tall even with my truck. I switched over to a 3" Bullet proof hitch with 6" drop. I probably could have gone with the 8" but I wanted more ground clearance. I also have the pintle attachment since my M1102 needs that style.

I also have a 2.5" shaft Bulletproof 8" drop/raised hitch for towing my M1102 with my camper. I had to go with 2.5 for it to fit in my hitch extension that took my 3" hitch to a 2.5".

Overall both hitches feel amazing. I love the weight reading on my weigh-safe hitch, but I prefer the strength and versatility with my Bulletproof hitch. I will admit that both can be quite overkill if you are not towing anything that big.

I was under the impression that the Weigh-Safe could be used in a raised position. Mine is aluminum, but found the same statement listed under the steel version:

ULTIMATE VERSATILITY

Towing a different trailer and need to adjust the height of the slider? No problem. With the Dual Pin Slider Lock, height adjustability has never been easier. Add in the option to use the Weigh Safe Drop Hitch in the rise position and you have the ultimate adjustable hitch. This hitch can also be flipped around and stowed out of the way when not in use, saving shins everywhere. (Note: The 3” shank size cannot be stowed.)

I read this as meaning this feature already exists inherently in the product. Am I misunderstanding?

Tell me more about the "Vegas" in your license plate bracket 🤔

You are correct. Maybe they updated this for the aluminum one. I could have sworn they said it was not recommended to be in the raised position. Maybe I am crazy haha. I think the other deal breaker was that it didn't have the pintle attachment that I wanted. Was trying to get a hitch to do it all, which is hard. I do love the sleek look of the Cerakote Black.

That's awesome! Now do that in the Tremor next month on Friday, the 26th. 🤪

Those girls look really familiar.
I'd be down. But the 26th is not a Friday in May
