Auto hold Braking on 23/24 Super Duty

Interesting. I wonder if it has to do with me trying to use the same instance I used with my '22.
Make sure you are on .63 for Forscan and delete any previous profiles that are saved. Honestly, it is best to delete the saved profiles and make Forscan query each time you connect.

Yeah...I think I'll just uninstall and download the latest.

The uninstall and reinstall got me back in. I was on version .55

Greetings all. I am posting a thread from FTE as this is something I have been chasing for months. We can finally enjoy, for those that like it, auto hold braking. I have confirmed this on my 24 Plat/Trem 6.7. A huge kudos to rpaldrich as he is the one that appears to have found the final link in ABS as-built to get this working.

I would expect this to work on the 2023's but as with anything Forscan, make a full backup of your APIM, IPC and ABS as-builts prior to making any changes.

As I noted in my post on FTE, after making the Forscan changes, you will need to hit the configuration "features" on your infotainment screen to tick the option to the right to enable. From there it is all icing so far. I have tested all over with this and it works. My next test will be with trailers to see if it works in all modes there too.

Changes:

Plain language:
APIM: Auto hold enable
IPC: Auto hold enable

As built:
ABS 760 03 01: *xxx - xxxx-xx change to 3 (original value on mine was a 2)

New to F250/ Tremor so forgive my naivete in advance

I'm sure FORSCAN mods are looked down upon if you need warranty work. As long as you save a copy of the original config, and reload prior to service, can Ford see the fingerprints of prior mod and possibly void warranty?

No apologies and it is certainly not naïve of you to ask. Generally speaking, making a Forscan mod should not affect warranty as it is a simple convenience setting. I have made literally 1000's of mods to all manner of Ford vehicles and have never had an issue and I have never returned it to stock. As you state, as long as you make a copy you are golden. If a problem crops up and you feel it necessary to return all mods to stock, there is no "ghosting" like there is with the tunes on a PCM/TCM. Further, the modules that can be addressed/edited by Forscan are not locked memory areas.

Hypothetically speaking, there are only a few scenarios where I would, if I were a service writer, question. For example: modifying the temperature of the heated steering wheel or seats (say an element burns out) or possibly enabling operator commanded regen. Even enabling the operator commanded regen I would find it very hard to question as that is an option that dealers will enable for a fee and some fleet trucks come with it already enabled.

Again, just make a backup of all modules and keep them safe. If you mod something and it gives other than expected results, just return back to stock.

I was able to modify the APIM and IPC easy enough but when I went to write the ABS as built I got the prompt "Incorrect checksum of data entered" is that normal ? My second box after the 2CF8 in 9481, other threads I've seen guys have 8481. Dont want to BRICK my ABS trying to enable Auto Hold

That will always happen as the checksum value is calculated by the previous values once written. So when you mod the values the checksum won't match. Once you write, a new checksum for the new values is calculated and is written. No need to be worried and is completely normal.

So, just thinking about this feature. Would I want this in an offroading scenario at all or would I set myself up for disappointment? Just trying picture this in different scenarios?

There should be an option to turn it on/off

Just picked up my 24 tonight, this was in the first group of things I did.

Does anyone know a way to not have to have the belt buckled for it to work?
I had a 21 f150 and it did not need the belt buckled for the auto hold to function

I tried doing the seat delete and it still needs the belt buckled for the auto hold..

Solve the seat belt issue....cut a buckle out of a junk explorer at work and plugged it in...

Another quirk I've noticed is that the auto hold is not activated simply by stopping the truck. Once stopped I have to actually push the pedal further down ... Is this what everyone else is experiencing too?
The 150 I had would active as soon as stopped...
Is this something that another forscan change can fix?

I can supply the as built from the 150 if anyone knows what they'd be looking at...I certainly don't

I can use Forscan on my 24. Have been able to since July.
Does the version you have allow you adjust/correct DTE? (Distance To Empty)? I have the larger Titan fuel cell and it would be nice to see real numbers, but the shop I work with said forescan can’t adjust that after 2022.

Same thing happens to mine. Light brake and nothing but press down a little more and it's engaged.

I believe that's how it works. My Ford Transit work van has the auto hold feature and if I lightly stop with the brake pedal barely pressed in it does not activate until a press the pedal a little more.

My 21 f150 was definitely different. As soon as truck stopped it engaged. Wonder when and why they changed it..

I actually just bought an OBD connector for my laptop today and have no experience with FORSCAN.

How do I actually go about doing this? Does anyone have a longer tutorial or just tips of what I can do? I’m a noob when it comes to all this but miss the auto hold from the 150

Is there a thread on this very topic for 2025+ MY Super Duty Tremors?

I ask because my '25 F350 XLT Godzilla Tremor was built with Auto Hold enabled. I have to drive through it all the time, meaning, when I let off the brake and expect engine idle speed to move the truck forward (or Reverse), nothing happens unless I begin to press the accelerator/gas pedal.

I'd like the option to turn it Off because I never have had it Off. At least reading THIS thread I understand I may be able to switch this feature Off through my dash display, so thank you for that. Cheers.
