Auto hold Braking on 23/24 Super Duty

Here are a few caveats I've noticed so far:

1. In order to enable or disable, you need to have your seatbelt on, otherwise it is greyed out.
2. Seatbelt also has to be on, while in drive, for the brake hold to activate. Otherwise, there will be a slash through the icon on the panel.
3. This does not work in reverse and is intended to per the manual on the F-150s. I am sure there is a setting that disables this and now my search starts anew.
4. When parked and shifter in park, you place your foot on brake to shift out of park, until you press the gas the hold is activated so long as your seatbelt is on.

I am sure there are more, and I will post as I find them.
Does it work if you have the seats "deleted" through forscan? By that I mean all sensors and warnings and chimes and alerts. 😉

I “deleted” my front seats as well, but you still have to have it buckled for the auto hold to work.

Auto hold is my favorite for scan mode yet.

Yeah I gotta get this done, I have a few messed up discs in my back and some days it takes me 2 feet to hold the pedal in bumper to bumper traffic coming home from work.

This already works on my 22', is this something that just recently was disabled in newer model trucks?

It's great when you have to come to a stop in traffic on a steep hill and don't have to worry about rolling backwards into the car behind when releasing the brake.

Huh my 22 plantinum doesn’t do this.

Maybe I'm confusing two different features. I think its called "Hill Start Assist"
That's a different feature. Auto hold keeps the vehicle from going forward or backward with your foot off the brake pedal.

Oh you are not wrong there. That is why I dive so much into Forscan. Ford and their stealers will charge you a mint to turn on features that are already on the truck but just "disabled" via a software switch. Plus, for me, it is a huge hexadecimal game of sudoku in a sense. Not to mention a enormous time sink.
Thanks so much man, I just turned it on this weekend and it works great. Love it! Are there any more of these types of features that may not be turned on in our trucks?

There are tons of things in the modules that aren't turned on. Essentially, the modules in every vehicle are the exact same. The difference is what they have as far as equipment that can be controlled by the module. For example, Adaptive Cruise is available in the module to be turned on. You may not have the radar, camera or sensors installed to allow it to work. Many folks will buy the XLT and then be thrifty and find deals on all the parts necessary, but them, install them then enable them.

I am attaching a PDF here that has some of the most common things folks turn on.

Has anyone e been able to get into a 2024? Forscan site says not supported and when I tried, it didn't work.

I can use Forscan on my 24. Have been able to since July.

Yup already have that sheet. Thanks

Interesting. I wonder if it has to do with me trying to use the same instance I used with my '22.
My guess is yes, I've been using forscan since 2017 and read somewhere in the past to always update and use the latest version. I'm by no means an expert because I only use it once or twice when I first get a new truck and then forget everything I knew at the time and have to start over. :ROFLMAO:

do you happen to have the as built lines and changes for the apim and ipc ?
