37 inch spare fits in spare location on 23+

Any rim should work it’s the diameter of the tire thats important and is the limiting factor in most cases.
That helps. I have a 35x12.5R20 which if I remember correctly should work with the spare tire carrier anyway since they come factory with a 34.8? (don't quote me)

Should have zero problems with that tire. It’s once you get closer to 36+ “ is when it becomes more of a challenge.

Yes, i still trust that silicone is whats truly keeping the heat from the tire, in the spot where it is touching about an inch i would even double up, thinking of doing that actually.

I bought 5 new ones together, with a 5 tire rotation sequence in mind.

This 6th one is from facebook marketplace, bought it $100 once i saw its condition and knew the precise use case i have for it, it was a no brainer.
Not disagreeing with anything you have done. I will just add i have 5" banks exhaust, heat shield is one quarter inch away from spare, absolutely no sign of melting or burning on the rubber closest to the heat shield. Spare currently there has been there for over 18 months

So I should be able to use the factory spare rim with a Toyo 37?

I have the 37x12.50x18 R/T Trails on Method 707’s, not interested in putting a 5th matching Method underneath.

I think I would have to use an ATIII to fit underneath, I don’t believe the R/T trail would fit. Would it still be close enough ATIII vs R/T Trail to work as a spare without issues?

I would think as long as it is not touching there should be sufficient airflow to not need any additional heat barrier. Agree with your post.

It is touching and the silicone sheet is what keeps the heat from the tire rubber.

Yes you’re better off with any 37 vs the 35 as the spare.

Agreed but a 35" spare will still get you down the road in a pinch, the same scenario as a donut applies here. If these were full-time 4WD/AWD vehicles then a full-size matching spare would be a necessity without question.

I am still torn on how I plan to approach this issue and I have been running the factory 35" spare in the stock location for the past year that I have been on 37's. I keep a full plug/patch kit and a compressor on board should the need to repair one of the 37's ever arise.

Sorry I wasn’t clear on my first post. Would like to replace the factory spare with a Toyo 37 using the factory spare wheel.

I currently run Toyo R/T trails (37x12.50.18). I don’t believe this tire will fit under the factory location, so I would have to consider the 37 ATIII same size (37x12.50x18). The circumference between the R/T trail and the ATIII are a little different, but is it enough to cause issues? For example, can I run the 37in ATIII on rear with a 37in R/T Trail? For the 35in spare, if I got in a bind I would make sure it’s on the front and only 2 wheel drive to avoid issues. Would I still be looking at the same limitations with the 37’s ?

If you’re lucky and someone local is selling a used ATIII 37 (got mine for $100) it’s easy enough and relatively cheap to put in a spare 37 on your factory spare steel rim to match your existing set. Brand new ATIII at ~ $500 mounted and balanced might not be worth it.

Should be no issue to run the ATIII with an RT if both are “37s”.

You'll be fine.

I’m considering 37’s down the road , I think just leave the 35 in place for me I have done with other trucks , I have allways had a spare what ever size mounted on a rim for tire rotation and if I’m taking a trip having the space in the bed I just put the tire in for peace of mind on a trip , my Gas 24 tremor is my around the town truck thats one of the main reasons for going gas , I have other diesel non lifted trucks I tow with .
With the Forscan you can change the Revs Per Mile to fix the speedo ?
With the exception of possibly slight rubbing anyone see a reason to level the truck besides looks better , I really don’t want to give dealers any reason to say anything about doing anything to the truck while I have talken the extended warranty .
This is my first Ford since my 2016 and have not found a dealer that I like yet .I am a retired tech so I know the nature of the business .

Great thread! I’m considering the BFG KO2 in the 37 (36.5 per specs). Anyone know if they fit? I’m hoping the typical slightly undersizing of the KO2s helps?!

One thing to mention, if you are running conical lug nuts on aftermarket wheels, save a set of the OEM lug nuts in your center console. If you ever have to mount the spare wheel, you will need the flat OEM lug nuts!!

Think that gets forgotten sometimes.

I have a 2024 F250 Tremor...went with the Toyo AT3's 37x12.5 R18 on stock wheels....purchased 5 tires ran the first set of 4 for 5000 miles kept one new one in the garage and no spare for those 5000 miles....at rotation I put the new one from the garage on the right rear, rotated the front left to the spare location (had 5000 miles on. it) and it fit no problem whatsoever and its not near the exhaust, I have felt it after 2 hour drives and no heat on the tire at all, it's snug and tight and I love the 37's, I live in the Tahoe area and these tires are a 100% improvement in the snow from stock.....

Also no rubbing up front, it's like the truck was made for this specific tire.....if you live in the mountains its a no brainer, air them down a bit and its like having a new suspension....my suspension is 100% stock.....much thanks to @Alpoba for all the information, I went for it and it worked

so you dropped a little heat shield thing in there between the tire and the exhaust pipe?
No that shield sort of wraps around half the spare and is stock….the truck came with it I did not add it or modify it or move it…

thanks to both of you.... might try that route. I want to keep the 2.5" hitch instead of going to 3"
