2025 Dealer installed keypad

It appears the keys are true buttons, correct? This is the first of the new style I've seen, and was fearing that the keys would be the "sensor" style like on my wife's explorer. I despise her keypad as it never seems to recognize my fingers unless I hold them there for a while on each number.

...also, I agree on OP's placement location. Looks good.

Honestly, the interwebs is making this entire issue a mountain out of a mole hill!
Actually Ford bean counters and management turned a great feature that Ford alone perfected way back in the 80s and made available across all FMC brands, into a not so well thought out debacle. Most that have been long time Ford loyalists have gotten used to this very useful and very inexpensive feature, and are rather baffled at the decision. Oh well change happens.

The key pad alone literally kept me from almost jumping ship one time about 8-10 years ago..... the "other" truck had everything I wanted... except a keypad... so i didn't.

In my opinion, the doge dudes at ford have truly undervalued the appreciation their loyalists have of that feature.

This is too cute!

Toothbrush and paste in that cupboard as well?

This is what I call an office truck, goes from home to an office, probably rolls on red carpet as well -- very different from having a truck as an office.

You don't want to see my fuel door! Your screen would get dirty and smell like diesel.

I owned the truck for about 8 hours when I took the photo

And I would bet it still looks just as clean.
I wish, went wheeling in the woods looking for new dirt bike trails and got that nasty mud clay everywhere. hosed it off 3 times and still keep finding packed dirt.

Dealer convinced me that app basically renders the keypad obsolete, so I ordered without. Am I going to regret it?
I use mine every day.

My brother-in-law has a f150, and I asked him about it before I bought the Tremor. For the life of me I didn’t think it would be useful, but he swore by it - kids and wife all know how to use it.

I thought, I would have the app and the fob in my pocket with door sensors knowing I was opening the door - or locking. So why?

Well, I programmed it with a custom code - and by week one I was using it all the time. I lock the truck this way more than any other way.

When I go hunting I give the guys the code if they need to access the truck while I’m deep in the woods. Same with the kids and wife.

I was so surprised how often I use it. I was just talking about this with my Brother-in-law last weekend. Lol

I find that the people that don’t understand the value of the keypad are generally those that have never lived with one. I can’t imagine not having it.

For those of you who are debating on the new keypad I think this location looks good!
Dealer wanted to put it under door handle ! They said that is where they were told by Ford to put it.
What light bar are you running looks simple and clean?

It is from M and R industries! They make 2 for the superduty the slim one I have and the pro version which is bigger! I like the look of the Lightbar I have , It does not stand out that much and it is curved to fit the curvature of the bumper!

Surely the morons at Ford will bring back the keypad on future models. I've had it on every ford I've owned in the last 20 years. I won't buy another one without it.

Yep rbimd, me too! I'll never buy any vehicle without a keypad again. Have always had these in the past 25 years now and DON'T want to do without them now either. In our family, we all use these & love these! I have always been FORD, as my dad and grandpa before me were. But if FORD keeps cheaping out on these wonderful and inexpensive to supply/install stuff, like keypads (& NO "Printed" owners manuals), I may cease being a FORD only guy.

I also am hating all these complicated and hard to work (while driving) all digital screens and dashes they are forcing upon us these days. In a very few years, these high-tech things are going to start failing and crashing then we'll have a useless hunk of metal sitting along the side of the Road.

I think the Ford designers and engineers (most likely younger and smart) don't think about reliability and dependability nor end-user wants and desires, they just want NEW & HIGH TECH to the MAX! Keep it simple and dependable, for me.

Anyway, that's my sniveling for the day, Lance

The app is useless where there is no cell signal.
This is interesting. I would think that the app would use the same algorithm as the Fordpass app. which I have used remotely where I THOUGHT I didn't have a cell signal but now will have to check it out. I would think the communication might be Bluetooth or similar when you have your phone connected to the vehicle and close enough for the data transfer.

Have you actually experienced this when you were next to the truck? What a bummer if it doesn't work. :( Luckily, I have the keypad.

Only some of our models allow the phone as a key feature to work. Cell signal is required for Super Duty.
