2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

I’m curious what opinion do you need to get to have factory installed air bags ? And is it something a dealer can install later ?
I don't recall ever seeing a factory air bag option. I might be wrong, but I don't think that is offered on the F-250/350s. There are a lot of aftermarket options.

Ok thanks I wasn’t sure if it was an option or not .

I was just told production on the 24s started late last night from a buddy in the Kentucky plant.

Ask him to send you a picture of a glacier grey truck. I’ve seen the pictures of the limited that has been posted but no guarantee that that’s accurate info.

I just did a Ford inventory search of Lariat with Tremor Pkg within 100 miles of northern VA and there are 86 2023 trucks currently available. Plenty of color options.
How do you do a search of Ford inventory within a specific area? I tried "Help me find my truck" and it sends an email to the closest dealership.

Another reason why I'm waffling on ordering. I have found two 2023 Tremors locally. One which is the one I test drove. The other the King Ranch which was ordered loaded and the buyer backed out. Thinking now it may have not been a Tremor though. Both dealers are asking more than sticker price. Which doesn't sit well with me. I understand economics 101 and supply and demand. And I know it is a seller's market. But that wreaks of price gouging. Like jacking the price on fuel and construction materials after a natural disaster.

Thus my thinking is watching/shopping online the larger dealerships in the Southeast and maybe found a 2024 Tremor on a lot or in transit that's dealer ordered. And hopefully when they start getting some on their lot and have more coming in luck up and find a Tremor that gets me excited.

There are several color options I like. And open on trim package. Except King Ranch as I personally think interior will get old and fell dated after a couple years.

And, how I use my trucks I could use F250 or F350. My 02 and 19 trucks are F250 short bed diesels. However, the more I read I probably should opt for the long bed now that I will be pulling our 42' RV more often now that I'm retired.

So thinking if I start shopping dealerships I would have more options on trucks to chose from over the next say three months? And hopefully find a dealer that would be willing to sell a 24 at X-Plan cost. Versus fixed to one truck and wait until next year to get one.

Is this wishful thinking? Otherwise, looking at the build list for November, and the option availabilities, what I would order would be probably 2nd quarter 2024 if I'm lucky. Thus, thinking there may be a dealer stock Tremor in the pipe line already.

Thoughts?? Advice??

Does anyone know if the 40/20/40 bench seat Lariat comes with heated rear seats? The official build sheet only specifies for the console config.

Great question. I just placed an order for a 24 and with the lariat trim level, this now comes standard.

Check this link out to see all the standard features on the lariat trim.

Be careful here. Both the build and price that you linked and the order guide show 40/Console/40 as the default configuration in a Lariat. If you want 40/20/40 on a lariat you must specify option code 6. With that option you cannot get power running boards and it looks like you loose rear seat heat, but you can get the interior work surface.

The market has largely corrected so there is no reason to be paying above MSRP. You can even find dealers taking x-plan on existing inventory as well as for orders for 24s. Dealers like Granger also price orders well below MSRP (closer to invoice pricing which can be better than x-plan).

Aside from 2 new colors, the 23s and 24s are the same so if you find a 23 that is configured like you want then it is worth jumping on it to save time and the increase in price from year-to-year. The wait for a 24 is difficult to gauge, but the fact that people who placed orders when the order bank opened in September got scheduled early in the model year points to things returning to more normal timelines when an order would take 3 - 6 months.

From what I've seen, most dealers that ordered the Tremor package on their stock inventory are selling at MSRP or above. If you're going to shop around for 3 months then you might as well get an order in now and hopefully have exactly what you want at a price you're comfortable paying in 6 months.

I had heard that 23’s did not have the adaptive cruise on them but I have not seen anywhere that the 24’s won’t have the adaptive cruise’s on them ? Does anyone know anything for sure about that ?

My 24 Lariat has adaptative not sure what package includes it exactly.

Yes I got the lariat ultimate package and it comes with it but I thought I read on here some saying that the adaptive wasn’t gonna come on the 24’s maybe I read it wrong

It shows it in the order guide book for the ultimate.

My Platinum has adaptive cruise on my 23... the feature is standard on KR and above in the 23+. It is also included with the Lariat Ultimate package.

Thanks for the reply and great information. Would still like to know how to check dealer inventory like mentioned above within 100-200 miles.

I rented a Ford Mustang and drove to Chattanooga Tn in about two hours one Saturday morning back in late December 2019. Drove my 19 Black Widow back. So willing to reach out.

I guess I will do a thorough search around the southeast on for something on the lot or in transit. If no luck I guess I will place an order for one.

I just finished rebuilding my 02 7.3L and fixing up and re-insulating the engine compartment. So engine is on the stand waiting to go in. Thus, if I order a truck it will give me plenty of time to finish my 02 7.3L project. And then go ahead and sell my 19 6.7L Black Widow while waiting on a Tremor to come in.

Geezz I hate waiting though . Sure would like to find one.

You can use this direct link. but I've outlined the steps below in case you want go that route: https://shop.ford.com/inventory/superduty/results?zipcode=35203&Radius=200&intcmp=show-si

Adjust the zip code (I used Birmingham City Hall - 35203) and radius (I set it at 200 miles, the max the system will allow is 500) in the URL above if you're elsewhere in AL.

Here's how to check dealer inventory:
  1. From the Ford home page, click on "Shop" at the top left of the screen
  2. Select "Search Inventory" from the drop down (second option)
  3. Select "Previous" under model year to search 2023s
  4. Select 2023 Super Duty from the list
  5. Select "Search Inventory" on the screen that pulls up
  6. The screen that loads will show you all Super Duties within 20 miles from you zip code. You can adjust the miles in the drop down to a search radius of 500 miles.
    1. Note: If you look at the address bar for the webpage, you'll see it has a radius in the URL. You can manually increase this up to 500 miles
  7. Use the filters to narrow your search to your desired preferences.

So…where to begin…I am one of those who has not received any communication from Ford since submitting order on 18 July 2023. I get it and it’s ok. Following along here I made sure my order had my correct email address through a friend‘s wife who happens to be a regional finance person for Ford. All good there. Now I was worried about my 250 Platty Tremor having the retractable running boards. Checked my saved build on Ford website to double check that I added back on the correct running boards - and the saved build is magically gone - poof. Wife trashed my printed copy because I knew I had it on Ford site - not! So, now I head to dealer for a hard copy and try to see if I can upgrade my priority (16-at least not 99). I am only customer in whole place and while my salesman digs through months of jackets with orders I get to talk to his boss about upgrading priority. The literal blank stares of 5 sales men blows me away when I show them the priority on my Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement. This head guy says he/they have no control over the priority level. He said they plug in the order and it is assigned by Ford. He has no control. He got really defensive when I told him I was possibly going with another dealer if they could get me a better priority. He asked how. I said more allocation and dealing with customer. He got even more upset when I hit him with an employee there had traded a Tremor and ordered a 24 Tremor had a better priority than me. He said no way. I know that is a straight lie to my face. I am for sure gonna use these guys vs another dealer just to see what happens. Anyway, I have my order copy and know Thursday I‘ll be among those NOT getting a production email. This thread gives more REAL information than most salesmen ever could. THX guys!

My dealer had an 80-priority code but told me that when they input the order that changes. When they get a signed order, they then would give it a low #. I put my order in 9-8-23 and have a build week of Nov 6. Good luck on your order. The order bank back when you put in, they had to do a transfer to the 24 system, and I hope they got it all correct for you.

You should get an email from Ford every 45 days. The priority is ONLY among the dealers orders. Has nothing to do compared to other dealers. Platinums have a backlog right now. Also your dealer needs to have a super duty allocation.

Just so you know, a 99 priority code is put when the dealer doesn't want Ford to schedule the order. There are legitimate reasons for that code, but in your case, that would result in you never getting a truck until your priority code is dropped to at least 19. The range of priority codes that can be set at the dealership level are 3 through 19 (lower is better).

Your regular sales team at most dealerships are not the ones who would change the priority code. This is usually done by the GM (AGM at my dealer). They are likely the ones who are also reviewing the AM preview report on Wednesday to see what orders will be selected for scheduling on Thursday. The AM preview report on Wednesday gives the dealer a chance to make changes to what is scheduled.

Any reason x plan pricing isn't showing for the 2024 yet? I see it for the 2023. Also heard on another forum you can't use x plan pricing on a 2024 in 2023? Any truth to this?

So the Platinum backlog - I’m ignorant to what timeframe that means. Are we talking about 2 months at the very least?
