2023 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build dates from Ford...

I didn’t get a VIN by the time Ford said they were done giving them out, so the order just kind of lapsed. The frustrating thing was that the ‘23 order banks had been open for almost a month before I was able to reorder. On a positive note, MAS was apologetic and provided an incentive to go through them again that I frankly couldn’t turn down. I just wish there was at least some communication from Ford that was definitive about what options are holding it up, as do a lot of the folks waiting for their build I’m sure.

My truck was built on 04/27 and released to the shipping company on 05/04 and has been sitting at the rail yard since and keeps moving to the right. VERY FRUSTRATING

We have the same build date of 4/27. I’m not frustrated yet, just getting anxious for it to arrive. I sold my old truck, my suv, and a motorcycle in prep for the Tremor. Currently borrowing a vehicle to avoid walking. Haha!

Mine sat in the railyard for ~2 or 3 weeks (don't remember the exact length now). Those are like black holes, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to get info on where you stand regarding priority and release. It sure seems like some operate on a FILO system (First In Last Out) although that's probably not the case.

Stay patient and you'll get it soon - being scheduled, built, and shipped are all huge hurdles so you are in the final stretch!

Anyone who doesn’t desperately need a new truck should hold off till at least 24. I been saying the same for some time now in this thread, but now we’re in june and 23s make less and less sense as the year drags on.

Wow.....the hits keep coming. No LED taillights and now no zone lighting. I am sure I am missing a few other options that were left off. It is making more and more sense to keep my 2022 250 SD.

Not really sure all I got was PC 14 is a good spot to be and if and when a PCO is offered for super duty then the 3rd party people will email me the offer. She didn't say when a build date would be available for my truck. So not really very helpful there.

For the Ford customer service to say that a priority code 14 is a good spot to be in is really not giving you any real hope and is rather creating a false sense of it. The priority code is a way for dealerships to manage their Unscheduled Order Bank. Priority codes range from 10 - 19, and then 99 for a submitted order that is on hold. The lower your priority code, the further up the line you are for that dealership. What you will not typically know is how many orders the dealership has accepted and what priority codes they have assigned to each order.

All things being equal, when it is time to schedule orders for your dealer, the system will first look at priority code and then by order date. So lower priority code and older order would get selected first. Each round of scheduling, the dealer has the option to manually choose an order, so they could decide to have someone with a priority code 19 and an order placed yesterday get scheduled instead of a priority code 10 placed in late October.

All of this is contingent upon the dealer's available allocation, whether or not the order is "unscheduled clean" - meaning it was submitted correctly (no errors from conflicting options), and there are no commodity constraints on the submitted order.

I suggest trying to find out from your dealer what their available allocations look like, how many orders they have that have a lower priority code, and whether or not their are items in your build that the weekly bulletins are noting as constrained (and in some cases are recommending removal of certain options).

So, my Lariat Ultimate which was built on May 12th won't have zone lighting? I probably won't take it if it doesn't. How can they deliver trucks missing options that we paid for with out either lowering the price or letting us know in advance that some package options will be missing?

Unfortunately I don't have the answers for you. ford unapologetically did it last year giving folks pennies on the dollars for options missing from their trucks. That’s why i’m saying, if you have such option, walk away and order a 24, long term it would be a wise decision.

Walking away will be a game time decision depending on whether or not there are options I paid for missing. The truck I am replacing is 9 years old and I have a buyer lined up this week. I was going to move forward with the sale and go a few days with out a truck but now I want to wait until I see the truck I ordered. Another year with my current truck is going to drastically lower its value. More miles, more corrosion, another year older etc....

Not yet. If I don’t have a VIN by the time the MY24 order banks open, I will place an order for next year and try to get first in line. I don’t need the truck immediately, which makes it easier to wait. Not easy, just easier.

Does having a VIN guarantee the vehicle is produced? This seems like wishful thinking for me

Well that's good news. I've had a VIN since 3/30. Build date moved several times to now 7/24. Only time will tell I guess

Mine arrived in Maine on Friday afternoon. Dealership getting it ready tomorrow. Only thing I’m currently regretting/didn’t realize, I don’t have the step in the tail gate, I assumed it was part of the trim.

Put the Amp bed step on when you get it. Super easy install, much more convenient to use than the tailgate step. I’ve pulled out the tailgate step three times in the past year (two times were to demo it for interested parties), but I’ve used the amp step literally hundreds of times in the same time frame.
