Wrist Watch Porn

Here’s the evidence of my addiction. I’m missing a few that are getting some work.

And now, with the Apple “Ultra” tracking workouts and other metrics, most of these see very little use. Another nod to old habits and hobbies that are fading into oblivion.

I'll take the blue one. 😉

The camaraderie on this Tremor Forum makes me want to own a Tremor. That is pretty cool.

Since they are now obsolete, you better box them up and send them my way. I’ll make sure they get used.

I can’t recall ever taking all the watches out for a picture before. Seeing them in aggregate makes me feel sorta stupid. Lots of evidence of impulse-purchasing. I’m attached to a few of them, which is kinda stupid in itself. That money could have been better spent. All but three of these watches were less than $800, and most were less than $350. Still, if my wife saw this I’d never be able to tease her about shoes again.

Edit: Yesterday I called the local Rolex dealer to see what it would cost to get my Submariner serviced. The “annual” service is now $800. That’s ridiculous, of course, but it’s the inevitable result of having a useful piece of equipment turn into a popular yuppie status symbol. In the 70s I saw this watch on divers and the occasional sailor/sportsman, and nobody else. Today, everybody and their dog is wearing them, whether they can swim or not. It’s like all the people driving jeeps that have literally never been put in four-wheel-drive. The world sure has changed a lot. I don’t get it.

Daily wear for me is the newest Aquaracer. I preferred the look over a Seamaster or Submariner. It's about perfect for what I want. Cheap enough I don't mind beating it up daily and expensive enough to hold up to the abuse.
The Submariner must be the most copied watch of all time. Even the appearance of the band is mimicked everywhere.

Started going down this rabbit hole about 2 years ago. Got the Tudor pelagos first which is still my daily. When I picked that up, I put my name on the waitlist for the James Cameron deep sea and got the call in September of last year that it arrived!

Way back when, I looked at the sea dweller. I thought it was very cool (and still do), but there was no scenario where I could imagine it’s trademark feature being useful. In the 70s and early 80s I had my submariner over 100’ deep hundreds of times, over 150’ several dozen times, and over 200’ once. The 205’ dive was still only two thirds of its depth rating, so the Sub was more than I’d ever need. The bubble made it easy to read the date. If memory serves, the Sea Dweller was also about $50 more. That was a bridge too far for a kid that was already stretching hard, so my choice to buy the sub was easy.

Always have a few watches on hand, Omega and Rolex.. Primarily wear an Apple Ultra 😂 Have wanted a blue Sky Dweller for a while and finally have this one on the way to me now! Stoked 🤘🏼

Uh oh this is a dangerous topic for me. I have a big watch problem. I've been into Rolexes for years now. Have bought and sold many and currently have about 6 including a Sky Dweller YG, Day Date YG, Daytona RG and a Ulysses Nardin Acqua Perpetual, but use this 43mm Sea Dweller as my daily. Ouch! Now I feel better about my habit. ;)

If someone in this forum has a Patek, AP or Richard Mille, I'll shit my pants.
My grandfather’s watch I traded toward my first Rolex was a Patek. I’m STILL not old enough to wear that watch. 🤣

Nice watches. Congrats to all of you that have them.
Shoot...I wear and Casio plastic G shock...never take it off. I beat the hell out of them and they still keep going. Solar powered $90.
I would not dare buy a rolex, as I am too rough on a watch. I got other things I spend a bunches of money on.
The Rolex Oysters are incredibly durable watches. Maybe not as durable as the G-shock, and definitely not as accurate as anything with a quartz movement, but otherwise pretty much bulletproof.

And, when they are bend-over-serviced by an authorized Rolex dealer, they come back looking new again.

No Doxa lovers on this forum? No Dirk Pitt fans? 😯

Aside from our one resident Delta Bravo, who seems to live for proving he is right and dragging others down, this is a good group. And as you say, so helpful. Whatever you want to do to you truck, a fellow member has most certainly already posted on it.

How about a new photo for the thread. And Happy Easter, fellow Tremor members!

Holy moly the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda-Automatic Steel Platinum Sand Grey. You have an unbelievable collection my friend! Happy Easter to you as well (maintaining those watches must be eggshausting 🤪).

Wow! I had no idea watches approached the $100,000 mark these days.

I really AM a pheasant! 🤣

And that's just getting started! This particular Parmigiani is about $26k.

This one is called the Minute Rattrapante. The mechanism is really a first of its kind. I bought it a year ago when it launched, and have worn it more than any other. I really love it.

Great example of a brand that many "non-watch" people have likely never heard of, but the quality is equal or better than most any other brand.

Yes! I'll take this one over a Rolex any day. Clean, subtle and super classy. Congrats my friend!
