I got very lucky. Ended up becoming good friends with the SA at the AD I bought the engagement ring.

Did you buy all of your watches from the same AD? All of those purchases should warrant an allocation for a sub.

I did buy them all from the same AD over a 5 year period. After being denied a Submariner and Daytona for several years now I’ve moved on to the grey market unfortunately. Not going to keep feeding the AD that won’t take care of a loyal customer. While small in the grand scheme to them, still a significant amount of money has been spent with them.

Smart to just buy grey. However it sounds like your AD is an ass. You should switch if you have another store nearby otherwise just buy grey.
