Wrist Watch Porn

Picked up something new for myself around the holidays. Wanted something that was a little more fun and not my Garmin Tactix.

It makes a nice compliment to the other 2 watches that made the cut and travel with us full-time in our RV, shown on page 2 of this thread.

Love Breitling. On my wish list for sure

Anyone here have some personal experience with the Marathon brand of watches?? I'm looking at the JDD 46mm specifically. As I have bigger than normal wrist size it's hard to find a watch that "fits". I use a Garmin Epixโ„ข Pro (Gen 2) โ€“ Sapphire Edition | 51 mm right now since the size fits me well.

If you can share your thoughts on Marathon or a better product (not a $20K Rolex; I can afford it I just don't want to ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ) please do!!

Brother if you have behemoth wrists then you should be rocking a Panerai or Breitling! Both can be had for under 7k

Marathon makes a nice watch, not ultra refined but has a pedigree for reliability. As others mentioned Panerai should fit you well.

Does my Omega Speedmaster MoonSwatch count?

By what I had it's showing 7.5-8 for my wrist size. Now more often than not the watch case is too small compared to my hand size at an easy XL or 2XL glove size (in most gloves). I'll be looking at the Panerai as I'm not that up-to-speed on their offerings.

Feel free to message me if you want any suggestions. Iโ€™ve been down the Panerai rabbit hole and have one of their subs myself.

Had some time today and have added a few watches recently, so here we go.

The Casio F-91W is a classic and just ... fun. And at $19, why not.

I wanted a field watch and had been eyeing a few from Hamilton. I like their origin and ties to the US military and their early start in PA. I wanted something on a brown leather strap, but the dial on the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph Automatic really caught my eye. So I got it and added the Horween leather strap. It makes a good "jeans" watch and is really comfortable.

The G-Shock DW-004 2164 has actually been with us since we hit the road. I forgot I had tucked it away in the back of a closet and came across it a few months ago. This thing is around 28 years old; I can't remember exactly when I bought it. It's been through some adventures and still looks pretty good and still running strong.

I went with the Hamilton Khaki Field "old paper" (champagne) dial...love the precision of that syringe minute hand and arrow seconds hand reaching all the way out to the chapter ring and 1/4 minute markings.

Anyone have a yachtmaster? The older I get the more a gold yachtmaster appeals to me.

I have a 16622 Platinum Dial YM, in which I put a red date wheel.

40mm case shape is GREAT...very refined with the lug length and high polish. With the precious metals typical of the case and or dial, it's a dressed up sub.

So with some internet digging here's the next best question I can gather. I'd feel better buying locally (person-to-person) or from a brick and mortar place. This gives me the best chance to make sure the fit/look is what I want as well as possibly the best option to prevent picking up a fake.
If I can't buy from a direct dealer, that leaves me the gray market right?? Does using a place like Chrono24 really work, or are there horror stories to tell me to stay away??
If anyone has a on-line place they use (have used) they can recommend please advise. โŒšโŒš

Trusted sellers there are your best bet for grey market authenticity.

Definitely go to an AD to try on for fit, what they have "for exhibition", and you can get added to the retail wait list there.

If you have to buy online, Chrono24 and Bob's watches have been great for me. Bought several Rolex, Omega, Tudor's from them. One day I'll get to play with the AP's and Patek big boy watches, but not there yet.

RolexForums : Are they only geared to Rolex?? Not a bad watch, just not what I'm targeting right now.
