Auto mod and quartzes ( the horror.) My tissot belongs to a son now and the older son would rather have my guns. My father in law has Rollies and APs and Longines but I’m rough and bracelets that fit me aren’t stock. I have a few Orients (a Mako and a slim dressy day date) too and some huge Casio digitals.

No need. Seiko is always a good work horse. I have two automatic divers, the white titanium is my favorite daily driver when not at work. Thin and light.

Yeah there were times i wanted a Lange or a Patek but decided to wait... Now, I’m in a small town and would get crucified for wearing a $90k watch while driving a $90k truck lol.

So with some internet digging here's the next best question I can gather. I'd feel better buying locally (person-to-person) or from a brick and mortar place. This gives me the best chance to make sure the fit/look is what I want as well as possibly the best option to prevent picking up a fake.
If I can't buy from a direct dealer, that leaves me the gray market right?? Does using a place like Chrono24 really work, or are there horror stories to tell me to stay away??
If anyone has a on-line place they use (have used) they can recommend please advise.

I’ve bought a dozen off Chrono24 and eBay, all certified authentic and some later sold/traded to legit dealers without any issues. Sometimes the best deals come with some risk. I’ve also bought from ADs and many of the forums. Here are some of my watch purchases via these routes this month.

I did buy them all from the same AD over a 5 year period. After being denied a Submariner and Daytona for several years now I’ve moved on to the grey market unfortunately. Not going to keep feeding the AD that won’t take care of a loyal customer. While small in the grand scheme to them, still a significant amount of money has been spent with them.

Absolutely abhor the way rolex 'sells' their product with artificial scarcity. Meanwhile you can go to the gray market or even a legit used watch shop and they likely have oodles of used ready to go.

Great new buys, and all in a month I appreciate the craftsmanship and complications of watches, but I also just enjoy the look and conversations/connections that happen. I've had multiple Role and Panerai and they are my favs for my personal enjoyment these days.
