Wolfbox G900TriPro Bumper Cam Install (Complete)

Your oem mirror is held on with a single torxs screw. Loosen that and it will pull off leaving a metal base that is bonded to the windsheild.
The wolfbox will come with a #1 bracket, that will bolt to the wolfbox rear view mirror. Then you just slip it over the oem metal base and tighten the lock screw. That's it. Once done it looks almost factory.

Believe this has been mentioned before, consider using FitDVR dash cam power adapter. If you have an auto dimming mirror, the FitDVR plugs into that power source and plugs into Wolfbox, without having to having to run power and ground to the interior fuse box for the Wolfbox. Mine is double sided tapped to back of the Wolfbox, all wiring is hidden behind the OEM mirror's plastic trim. If you have an auto dimming mirror, the FitDVR plugs into that power source and plugs into Wolfbox, without having to having to run power and ground to the interior fuse box for the Wolfbox. Mine is double sided tapped to back of the Wolfbox, all wiring is hidden behind the OEM mirror's plastic trim. Could you explain how you mounted the mirror/camera unit? I assume it wasn't attached with the bands, but did you remove the original mirror mount and glue a Wolf mount onto the windshield? I'm just confused about what the OEM mounting solution requires.

Here is what the Windshield bracket looks like, it goes right onto the OEM mirror button on the windshield. If you have an autodimming mirror you will want to pull the electronics out and mount it to the back of the mirror and plug it back in to keep some features working on the truck.

  • Compatibility: This 16-pin connector is standard for 2017-2025+ Ford Super Duty trucks (F250-F600) with auto-dimming mirrors.
  • Usage: It is commonly used for plug-and-play accessories, such as dashcam power adapters (e.g., Dongar, Mangoal).
  • Important Note: The auto-dimming feature relies on this specific 16-pin plug, which differs from standard manual mirrors or 22-pin side-view mirrors.
My 2024 has a 16-pin connector, if that's any help

Thank you. Think they'll ever make a case or cover so that you don't have to just tape the board from the auto dimming mirror to the back?
 
My suggestion would be to reach out to Wolfbox support and pose your question. I've found them very good to work with, responding quickly to questions, they may already have this on their product roadmap

The Wolfbox screen brightness has to be manually adjusted, my solution was to adjust the screen for a comfortable, light level for night driving. The cameras themselves adjust for light, using Wide Dynamic Range (WDR),

I've found adjusting the screen brightness to a comfortable level for me for night driving, the cameras adjusting using WDR works just fine.

For me this combo works very well for oncoming traffic and the boneheads behind you running with their brights on. Please bear in mind with my background, flying with NVG's, and having a very misspent youth 🤪 I have an intense dislike of glare on windows/windshield.

The HUD, instrument cluster, and interior lights don't dim nearly enough to remove the reflection on door windows and windshield, for my eyes to be comfortable, so my mirror brightness setting is very low.

Mirror plug is only hot with ignition
 
Correct parked dash cam features, are not available using FitDVR, being connected to switched (ignition on) power.
To have parked dash cam features, Wolfbox has to be powered by constant on fuse from interior fuse box, using a fuse tap. I believe it's recommended to install fuse tap on to 5amp or 7.5amp constant on fuse.
Being located in western Idaho, parked dash cam features were not a priority.
 
Has anyone figured how to hook this up to an always on upfitter so it can selectively be left in park mode with a flip of a switch?
Bumping this, as I have the same question. I’m considering installing this but would like it to remain hot for recording while parked. I understand this would consume one of the upfitter switches, and while I don’t currently use switches 5 or 6, I realize some may cringe at dedicating a high-output switch to such a low-draw accessory.

Open your hood, pop open the upfitter box, slide the itty bitty fuse forward and voila! Constant hot for 5 and 6 😁. See diagram:

Haha - I think I did that day 2 of owning the truck. But all it did was let me leave a nightlight on. I need the buttons to actually perform a task. This is the route I'm likely going.

Also need to look, someone on here had a very clean solution for implementing UpFitter connections. That's always the fun part - the project you have to complete to get you where you need to be to start the actual project.

You may wish to put an inline 3 or 5amp fuse on the connection to the no crimp solution for 5 or 6 for the mirror.
Thought being the as the switches are rated for 40amp, Wolfbox being 3-5amps you may want the lower amp inline fuse to protect wiring instead of 40amp rated upfitter switch.
Just a thought for older than dirt guy 🤪
