Change blades 3 times a year?! Yet you say you pretty much don’t need to use wipers? Are they regularly (every weekend or more) wiping mud off or something??

Here I am being somewhat disappointed if my wipers don’t last more than a year.
In Washington state, spring rains plus pollen is like moving elmers paste, so to ensure there are no streaks from winter blunders I change them out. Then I get a set for pushing off bug guts all summer long. Then a Final set goes on at Hunting season. I average 18-23k a year. So if I change one I change them all.

Huh. Also in WA State, also average around the same mileage. Looking at your profile you're west of the mountains, as am I. Maybe you spend more time east of the mountains than I do (significantly more bugs over there)?

Definitely not my money, but I think if you got some PIAA Super Silicone wipers you would be easily good with one set for a full year. :P

The Banks trip cooks them bugs on every summer and about 3 gallons of washer fluid in-between plus the up and down of 101 and Hwy 12. Could be too OCD, but seems like a minor inconvenience/cost compared to other things.

I’ve been a Bosch guy on all my cars for a while now. No complaints. I’m not diehard, it’s just what Autozone had that seemed the best, so I just stuck with them. Just put a pair on the Tremor as the OEM ones starting to falter. I’ll pay more attention now, but I’ve never noticed being upset with them

Gotcha. Fair enough, and ya it's not a ton of money.

Don't start paying attention now! If you're happy with them, enjoy them! :D

barring one tiny line right now, but almost certainly that’s debris
Welp. I've cleaned my windshield and run my fingers along the wiper blade multiple times now and this streak isn't going away. Not impressed.

Of course it's on the driver's side, too. Might have to switch the wipers around so I'm not staring at the streak all the time. Driving me nuts.

@ccw 1 trip to Leavenworth and I got 3 sand chips in my windshield, but I blame my wife not DOT.

🤔 Is that for one or two?? Either way, for that price (I'll assume it's a pair) I think I'll give the Motorcraft ones another shot when mine are ready. I have been happy with them and the price is reasonable.
It’s for a pair. My factory blades squeak so badly, I’m willing to try something different.

The $10 Michelin brand ones at Costco have been working fine for me for years. I've never found the expensive ones at the parts stores to work any better or last any longer enough to their cost over the cheaper ones.

@ccw You should be able to get a year out of them, IMO. I’m still rocking the factory oem ones - and that’s dealing snow, salt, and rain. They are just now beginning to show some signs of wear.

My wife, who sounds a bit different than @Modman ‘s wife, ends up running wipers down to metal without saying anything. Lol. Each time I drive her car I feel like a mechanic on a road test. 😂 “what? They still work - they are fine.” 😑

Ot: @Modman whatcha getting built? *eyebrow flutter*
I just now need to swap out my OEM factory ones. I picked the truck up December of 2021. I have about 24K on it. They are just recently leaving some slight streaks and causing my rain sensing to run at maximum anxiety more often than not. I plan on grabbing a new set today - just need to figure out what brand.

I tried the Bosch icons on recommendations from here and let me tell ya they are hot garbage (maybe a bad set) been on only a month and a half and they streak so bad you can’t see shit at night in the rain my 14 month old oem’s were better, not sure if I should go rainx or try the piaa’s but everything I look up on line says they don’t fit a 22 ? Anybody know if the piaa 22” fit fine or have a part # ?

I've had my truck since April. The blades have gone to shit. That's got to be a new record for me. I think I'll try the Piaa.

Right before we headed out to the Tour de Mont, I had my tires rotated at Discount Tire. While I was there they offered to put new wipers on for $13.99 a side. I said yes and surprisingly they've been great so far. I don't know what brand they use though.

I’m going back to PIAA Super Silicone. The Bosch Icon have been functional till now, but not exceptional. Looking like I’ll get about a year out of them compared to the 3+ I was getting out of the PIAA.

Additionally, the PIAA frame is reusable and you can swap just the rubber for about a third of the cost of the full wipers.

Cant look it up right now, but when I figure it out for my truck I’ll let you know. Almost certainly they have the right size, even if our trucks aren’t programmed into their wizard for whatever reason.

Sometimes the generic stuff can be fantastic!

I go back and forth between SE coastal and southwest. My PIAAs have held up wonderfully and work great. Even after getting sunbeat out here in the desert.

Anyone that uses the OEM wiper blades, can you confirm the part # is ml3z17528a ? (Ford parts sites SUCK soo bad)

I've been happy with the OEM wipers, they're still working good on my truck since April 2022, but prob will need replaced before winter is over.

So I'm 99% sure the PIAA Super Silicone, part # 95055, will fit. PIAA doesn't say they'll fit as it seems their application guide is stale, but I strongly doubt Ford has changed their wiper arms from 2018 (the last year of Super Duty on PIAA's guide) and 2022.

Additionally, the same Bosch ICON wiper blade fits both a 2018 and 2022 Super Duty.

I've ordered part 95055 and will update here once it arrives and I've had a chance to install it. Estimated to arrive Friday, but may slip to Monday.
