Winch Install!

Anyway someone can scan the install instructions and post?

Would love to be able to read through that prior to the part being available to order for those that already have their trucks.

From somewhere on this forum, Order code for the dealer is 15W and...
2nd pic is actual winch part number

I installed it myself

Since you ordered this from the dealer do tou also have a copy of the directions that came with the kit?
I ordered it with the truck. From Ford. It arrived separately from the truck.
Do you have the directions that came with the winch kit from Ford?

Yes, installation instructions are ok, they don't mention some things, but nothing major. What's not mentioned is obvious once you're in there looking at everything. Bolt up torque sequence is probably the main thing to pay attention to. I'll try to get a pdf made up to post

love it!! Congrats. does the manual have a picture of the actual specs (measurements) of the winch? If so, could you snap a pic and post. I’m trying to decide if there’s room to put the Warn 16.5 ti in it‘s place? Thanks.
I'll check the manual I have sometime today. I can tell you that it's not the standard bolt pattern for a winch that I'm used to anyway. Most I've seen are 10"x4.5" if I remember correctly, and this one is 8.5"x4.5"

Edit: winch bolt pattern is 8"x4.5".

Also, approximate length of winch is 20.25", that's from laying down underneath trying to get it as close as I can. Barely any more room left between the brackets. Don't think anything longer would fit.

There was no manual that came with it for dimensions

Got the last of the trimming taken care of on the plastic trim. There is a lot more trimming to be done then the instructions say. Just saying!!! Maybe for a fit that I’m happy with that is!! Anyways really turned out good I think. Looks real neat. Got a Factor55 Prolink coming so I don’t a big nasty hook hanging out on the front tow hooks. Hello, I'm curious where you got the piece of trim that covers the space where the radar for the adaptive cruise is located? I don't have adaptive cruise but would like to cover that area as shown in your pic. My dealer doesn't show it as being available

Globalhawk you should be in detail getting cleaned up, thanks for the nice words. We do go above and beyond for our customers, i treat every veh like its my own or like my family would be in it. We make mistakes but we do absolutely everything we can to take care of our customers. You will love the Tremor i'm sure. You are correct most of the time all you will hear about anything is the negative, I would like for most to understand almost 95% of the time when we see you guy's, gal's your probably already pissed off if you are having to visit a service dept. It goes along way to be nice and understanding with the service dept and ALOT of the times we have to do what Ford says and when they say it, they are in charge. And always remember if it's mechanical it is subject to failure at any given moment, i hear all the chatter about this or that breaking and trust me every brand has failure. I will help anybody as much as i can if anyone has any questions with there rigs.
Everyonwe needs to listen to @Fordseniormaster when it comes to Ford Tremors and any Ford fir that matter! When it comes to knowledge on Ford he has the PHD. Give these guys the correct info at write-up and they will get it Fixed Right the First Time.

It’s the trim that came on the truck factory, I just trimmed it to make it fit and look factory. The same goes for the center piece of trim

New post for winch installation instructions. A joint effort between plethoragreen and myself. Thanks to him for shrinking the file size for this pdf:)
That file might be worth it’s own thread just so it doesn’t get lost. Great job guys!

I think I looked at every winch on Warn’s web site. I don’t see a single one that has that bolt pattern or that is 21 inch total length.

would you say, the only way to get a different winch is getting an after market bumper?

thanks

That is indeed what I would say. The winch is packed in there pretty tight. I don't know of any other that would fit

I tried but only see the one option to choose from pre set post topics? Couldn't figure out how to start an original thread?

Click on New Posts near the top of the main page, and then you should see a grey tab on the top right that says post thread. Should give you a bunch of options of where to put it. Click on the one that best describes what you want to post about, and write away.

Is the size issue more forward to backward? Or right to left? It’s difficult to tell from the pics. would a custom bracket make any difference? That would also allow for the bolt pattern changes. it would seem the issue is more right to left. Thanks.

Ok guys this is the stuff that makes a difference when you choose the guys to work on your stuff!! The destructions for the winch say to throw away the center piece of trim that is between the tow hooks trim pieces, they do say to trim the left side toe hook cover for the cruise module. When I installed mine I trimmed my center piece to fit to make the install look like it should for my liking. For y’all doing it it would be sum thing to think about! Here is sum photos of the 6.7 without and mine with. And we are going to install the center trim on the 6.7 like mine also. Is there an option for a front plate if the winch is installed?

So has anyone ordered this kit by itself? Bought my Tremor earlier this year and want to add the winch now.

I think you might get a bit of room fore and aft to accommodate slightly larger diameter winch but left and right I'd say no. I can't see how you could make your own brackets any smaller for that direction

On the Warn site, it shows the 9XP-S with a 22.7" overall width (6.3" depth, 7.7" height).

The M15-S is 25.2" L x 8.5" D x 11" H.
The 16.5TI-S is 24.2 L x 8.5" D x 9.7" H.

Does the 12 XP-S have the same dimensions as the 9XP-S? Is 1.5" left and right not going to happen?

I called Warn and they said pretty much no other winch would fit in that space.
