How to Choose the Right Winch
So you're looking to buy a WARN winch. How do you know which one to get? Below are our guidelines for choosing the right winch for your truck, SUV, ATV, or UTV.
How to Select a Truck or SUV Winch
For trucks, it's simple. Take the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and multiply it by 1.5. For example, if you've got a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon two door. A quick visit to Jeep's website shows the vehicle's GVWR is right about 5,000 lbs. (2,268 kg). Multiply this by 1.5 and you'll get your minimum capacity. In this case, it's 7,500 lbs. (3402 kg). An 8,000 lb (3629 kg) capacity WARN ZEON 8-S is a good place to start, but for some extra grunt, you can move up to a 10,000 lb. (4536 kg) winch. Remember, you can always go up in capacity. Warn offers truck/SUV winches ranging from 8,000 lbs. (3402) to 16,500 lbs. (7484 kg). See which one is right for you.
While this is Warns recommendation, in the times I have needed to winch, I've almost always used snatch blocks to put the math on my side a bit more. Since looking at the tight space allowed, I'd guess the 12,000 is the biggest they could get in there?

ok so here is my input on winches should you get a winch for your truck yes but my jeeps have 10k winches and i used this winch to pull out the tremor out of the hole it was in my picture but i know the 10k winch is going to be hurting i used a snatch block to make up for the power difference. having the snatch block makes a big difference and i use them alot so if you have a under powered winch just have alot of snatch block i have 5 of them and alot of d rings for recovery

Ok guys this is the stuff that makes a difference when you choose the guys to work on your stuff!! The destructions for the winch say to throw away the center piece of trim that is between the tow hooks trim pieces, they do say to trim the left side toe hook cover for the cruise module. When I installed mine I trimmed my center piece to fit to make the install look like it should for my liking. For y’all doing it it would be sum thing to think about! Here is sum photos of the 6.7 without and mine with. And we are going to install the center trim on the 6.7 like mine also.
Nicely done Fordseniormaster, definitely looks cleaner with the center trim. I appreciate the attention to detail.
Folks on other threads have mentioned how people tend to voice complaints and not always acknowledge the positive. So I want to give a shout out to Red River Ford in Cabot, AR. Looks proper with the trim piece. Without it looks like someone forgot to install it and said screw it.

Globalhawk you should be in detail getting cleaned up, thanks for the nice words. We do go above and beyond for our customers, i treat every veh like its my own or like my family would be in it. We make mistakes but we do absolutely everything we can to take care of our customers. You will love the Tremor i'm sure. You are correct most of the time all you will hear about anything is the negative, I would like for most to understand almost 95% of the time when we see you guy's, gal's your probably already pissed off if you are having to visit a service dept. It goes along way to be nice and understanding with the service dept and ALOT of the times we have to do what Ford says and when they say it, they are in charge. And always remember if it's mechanical it is subject to failure at any given moment, i hear all the chatter about this or that breaking and trust me every brand has failure. I will help anybody as much as i can if anyone has any questions with there rigs.

Will the adaptive cruise still function properly if the winch is installed?
I don't have adaptive cruise control(I don't think?!) Just XLT package. So I'm not expecting to have to deal with that

The million dollar question- for those of us who unfortunately did nit order the winch initially..how on earth can we get a hold of the kit and the one winch to have ford service install for us?

Well, I got started today. Pretty close to finishing, the bumper is just hanging there by the outside bolts. Gotta sandwich everything together tomorrow morning. But was excited to post these pics. Floor jack came in handy for "2 persons required" bit 
And on the 4th pic down, those 2 bolts on the main frame- they are not used, I changed them out for the bigger ½" bolts in the kit

Do you have a part number for the winch? My dealer says he still can’t get it. What dealer are you using to install it?
I ordered it with the truck. From Ford. It arrived separately from the truck.
From somewhere on this forum, Order code for the dealer is 15W and...
