Given that most dealers don't even get the bolt situation correct, I'd take by the book any day! Haha

Normally they get shipped to the dealer before the truck. But it doesn't always happen. Your VIN will be printed on the labels, and the winch comes on a small pallet so hopefully they figure it out when it does get there (if it hasn't already).

Mine showed up with the truck. Picked up Big Red on a Thursday and brought it back on Tuesday for the install based in service center workload. Dealer did a good job; no issues.

Mine was about a week later. Also, my trailer tire pressure monitor/ trailer camera kit wasn’t with the truck either and also showed up a week later.

What is the best way to remount the adaptive cruise unit to the winch/bumper? I tried to remove the stock studs with no luck to remount them. I got the feeling they were super glued and I need to find replacements.

They are threaded in. Iirc there are wrench flats on two sides.

Understanding this is an older thread, the content is very helpful. For all those that have installed the factory winch option, how has it been performing? I have read comments about the mounting bracket not being strong enough for recovery and bending. Thank you.

Main issue with the bracket is that the adaptive cruise sensor is mounted to it. That causes issues if the bracket gets tweaked. Common tweaking is caused by sucking the line in too far and squeezing the bracket between the hook and winch. If you don’t have adaptive cruise, you’d never probably know. I believe I bent mine on a hard pull, but cannot confirm. I replaced the bracket and moved my adaptive cruise sensor - still working that process through with aiming / *grill blocking*.

The electrical connection should be sealed too - I just replaced mine with a marine connection.

I have been using mine several times a year, but only for winching trees around so far. I have been careful to not suck the hook up too tight against the fairlead. You can see it flex just beyond snug.
The remote batteries don’t last long, but I like the remote for tree work. Beyond that I’ve had no issues, and it’s super handy. I carry the basic recovery gear and feel very confident it would get me out of a jam. And I like the hidden factory look.

Old response. The relay control under the left side of the bumper needs to be completely soaked with anti corrosion spray. In the north west winter roads..the salt destroyed the 1st one in 1 season.

My eyesight isn't what it used to be, but I thought you'd like to know that I'm almost sure I saw a speck of oil or dirt on your floor..! You may have dealt with it by now however..

After 3 years, this week I tried first time the remote which came with the Warn winch. Surprise it didn't work.
Only one direction worked. Unwinding, yes, winding, no. It can't be the battery either. That doesn't surprise me. Everything related to Ford quality is disappointing.
