My 2021 Tremor (purchased Dec 2020) has 55,525miles. I live in the Arizona desert so no stranger to driving in hot environment. Started misfiring last week when towing a car on a flatbed trailer on the interstate at only 60mph. Have had no prior issues with this truck. Tow a travel trailer at times with no prior issues. Talked to my son in MT who is a mechanic. He and a buddy, also a mechanic, suggested a couple possible issues including the plug wires. Said Ford is aware of this issue and suggested upgraded wires. Took it to Ford. Turns out it was the wires. They tell me they don't have upgraded wires after I foolishly let them swap out the wires for their overpriced Ford product. Running fine now but for how long on these new, for lack of better terms stock, wires?
Five years of driving in the Arizona heat along with the heat generated by this motor… I think it’s totally normal that the wires would fail at that point. I live in the Pacific Northwest and have changed my wires twice. fwiw I grew up in Tucson so I understand the challenges that the desert can present to equipment.

You can upgrade the wires to these if you want better quality:

Ton's Ceramic Titanium Sleeved Spark Plug Wire Set 11" Ford 7.3L GODZI – Ton's Performance

Thanks for sharing the link. I want these upgraded wires. Did you pair these with motor craft plugs or upgraded plugs? I’m guessing this doesn’t affect extended Ford warranty or can it?

We got bit by this "feature" on our recent trip out west. Lots of mountain towing and compression braking (which works great btw). Motor started misfiring shortly out of Couer d'Alene, ID. Found a great mechanic shop in Kalispell, MT (Loren's Auto repair) that did the repairs, replaced 8 spark plugs and all wires, problem went away with no issues for the remainder of the trip

The latest edition stock wires will solve the problem. Mine went at 79k on my 21' and somehow my Ford dealer covered it under the 8yr/80k federal emission warranty. I think the service manager screwed up though because I don't believe the Super Duties are covered under that warranty. I didn't ask questions and I also keep his spare set of D's, (latest part number that ends in the letter D), under my backseat. I bought them before I had the problem but wasn't sure what my problem was so I took it to Ford and that's what they diagnosed it as. I was able to get those at RockAuto for about 22 bucks a piece but that was maybe 3 years ago.
