Explain what you mean by they become expensive?

I had the Ready Lift puck system in it when in bought it. New shocks, casters, dual steering stabilizer, and track bar, still drives poorly. Alignments, new wheels and tires. That’s what I mean by house of cards. One thing after another. Although I like the look of my leveled AM Blue 22, it’s not worth the crazy bumpsteer and wandering.

I did the radius arms and Fox 2.0. The shop that installed my kit knew my pavement Queen would remain a Queen so I went that route. I prioritized the lifted look over ride quality but the latter improved as well so I'm happy. If you plan on going off-roading then 2.5's all day.

I did Radius arms, I don't remember the 4 link being an option when I ordered.

You have to ask yourself, why do I need a lift? These are already 2” taller from non tremors.

These are the reasons I didn’t.

1. I have a 7’ garage door on my shop. It wouldn’t fit with a lift.
2. My truck camper jacks are maxed out to get on the truck as is. A lift would not work without blocks or something making it even scarier to put on.
3. A lot of garages are 7’ beam height making it tough to park.

Considerations besides the costs to modify.

This is pretty much my thoughts - other than the garage clearance. Mine would never fit height or length wise.

JMHO, I bought the Tremor so I would not have to dick with getting a lift. Could have save a few bucks and bought an Fx4 if I was going the lift route.

Anyone using Carli components front and rear with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Adjustable w/ Reservoir shocks?
How often do Fox and King shocks need to be rebuilt? Only looking for the minimal lift 2-3" to get a better ride on and off-road.

I am. I’ve got about 10K on the PEs right now, and had 2.0 Backcountry’s before. I’ll let you know when it’s times for rebuild, but I’m far from stock. I weigh in over 9K just cruising the street, and around 10K ready for a trip.

Take a look there, added a 3.5" leveling kit with Steady Track, that further reduces bumpersteer in OEM steering geometry, adds a Fox steering stabilizer in double sheer and with a new frame mount, beam arm drops to restore the caster, and keep the axle in the center of the wheel well.

New panhard rod drop brackets, pitman arm, and the axles is centered front to back, side to side, while retaining the factory spring rates that make for an awesome ride by using coil levelers.

My opinion of the BDS is it's a solid kit for just lifting the truck but does not add any additional comfort or performance like a Carli would. I wanted 5" of lift or more and I have the 7.3 gasser and Carli does not make a gas tuned kit in their 4.5/5.5 kit or I would be running it. I do have the 2.5 Fox PE's and I have ran them on several trucks and love them. The fox 2.5 HTO's were not available when I bought mine or I would have went that route to save a little money and see what they are about. I think the HTO's will be the shock of choice for Superduty owners, stock or lifted, 2.5" shock with top out protection, Fox tune and semi affordable. I think it's Foxes answer to the 6112's. The 23'+s ride way better IMO than the previous Superduty's and BDS still is running the 17' front coil so it was a downgrade from my stock 2024 Tremor ride. Even on 18" wheels, 37's at 50 PSI all around it still does not ride as good as stock. If it did I would be stoked. It has softened up a bit after 1K miles but still not as smooth as stock, out the door it was brutal. I am going to try a spacer and the 2.5/3.5 Carli level hight springs in the gas version to get my ride back. I also ordered the Carli front sway bar that's supposed to help the ride a little bit. I skipped the BDS rear spring as it claims to keep the payload the same and if I swap I would do Deavers and Long Travel Bags. I haven't pulled the boat yet so I need to see how bad it sags. Its only has 0.75" of rake with my cover and gear in the bed.

BDS does not make the long arm kit for the 23+ Superduty's yet or I would have went that route.
BDS is always having sales and I basically bought the 2.5 PE's and got the lift kit for free.
BDS stands behind their stuff and I have always got good service and help on kits I have bought in the past. They have the best F-150 kit.
FOX owns BDS and their shocks have the best daily driver tune IMO.

Did I mention I love the Fox Performance Elite 2.5" shocks with High and Low speed dampening?

What was the difference in ride quality between those two setups on and off road? Is the $3400 for the FOX 2.5 worth the cost in ride quality?

For me it was, but I’m running heavy. The 2.0 didn’t have enough control once I added the weight. It rode great empty prior, but throw on 2000+ worth of full time camper/gear and it didn’t perform as well. Bump compliance was still good on road, but it had a lot more drastic sway with any little hit. The 2.5s definitely control the weight better, and fine tuning the high and low speed compression helps a lot. I can’t say that I’d add them again if I was still in a semi stock configuration.

To hold me over an few years so I could save up money for an lift kit, stock it's very capable rig .... and I went into this truck saying I was going to keep it factory. That panned out well. Though I have done just bolt-on's ... and a few holes here and there, little silicone, some cutting.

Plus it's like an requirement for the forum you see any fx4 here
