I like the box blade for what it is. It is tricky for leveling. On uneven ground, it usually goes up when you need it to go down and vice versa. It is great for grading potholes and such. The scarifiers are great for loosening up hard ground. There have been times I wished for a land plane but, to me, it is kind of a one trick pony. If my gravel driveway was way longer, it might be worth it.

Good to know. I may go this route, but I have been looking at rear downforce options too for the 3pt. That way I can dig in.

Reading this thread made me think of sharing this.

I have the option to buy this older tractor. The guy selling does not know how much to charge for it - it’s his brothers. I think he did the work restoring it - but his health is failing. I understand it may run fine. I’d have to verify.

I joined a facebook group to understand the value. Looks like 1-3K.

Thinking this could be for my wife raking the arena. It does come with a cutting bar and rear plow.

I took these photos. I may be able to get access for more.

BBs are an art, I swear. Got a lot of experience with them while cutting in a driveway loop. Then topping up the easement road with millings. A land plane would have taken less time, but the BB is so versatile!

Picked up this early 90s Kubota L3450DT with loader and a 5ft Ford snow blower a couple months back for $5k. Had a bout 580 hours on it when I bought it.

Converted the bucket and loader over to skid steer quick attach and picked up some forks and a grapple for it. Added a diverter valve kit to run the grapple. When I went to pick up the snow blower from their house they offered me a full set of turf tires for it included in the original price since they didn't have a use anymore for them. Had to replace the front tires since they were cracked from age and sitting flat.

You n me both! I broke through crust and sank into a bog. It looked solid. Rode the ATV over it several times. No clue about geology but it was soft and loamy. I stuck a 4' piece of rebar all the way in by hand.
I avoid that area like the plague now!

I didn't get any photos... sadly. Although maybe my dash cam did. Anyway, one of my employees called and said the D3 got stuck in a reservoir. Went in with my Tremor and a cat 430 to pull it out. Tremor ended up doing most of the work as the 430 promptly got stuck. So had to go pull that out after the D3 was free. Good times... also, yay warn winch!

Edit: dash cam did catch the recovery although it's not great.

That’s a Farmall Cub, looks like maybe early 50’s. That’s exactly what I got my wife for a parade/fun tractor. They’re great running little tractors with a wide variety of implements available. We use hers to haul the trash cans to the highway, and she carries her garden supplies around with it. I paid $1700 for it, and it was in about the same visual condition as the one you’re looking at, and ran good. We have since lined the fuel tank, replaced hoses, belt, gaskets etc, and re-painted.

New sleeves, pistons, etc for the 46 Ford. Rotating assembly is complete. Tomorrow I’ll torque the head and install the externals.

Also just ordered some new water pump seals for the D2. I found a belly-pan (skid-plate) for it that needs to be installed…

I was genuinely surprised. I looked in the hole after and it was on the belly pan. I don't think it was completely swamped though.

When they called to tell me it was stuck the first thing I thought was "crap... what do we have big enough to pull this". Even stopped at HD on the way home to get extra straps thinking I might need the backhoe and probably one of my Ag tractors (Kubota M9000) or something.

Not new machine but was able to able to play a little with a new implment; truss boom. Worked great to install a temporary/permanent CSED. About time to put the plow back on now though.
