Tremors and Tractors

I started this thread almost a year ago, I should share the rest of my herd with you!

backhoes are nice and beat a shovel any day but a mini is definitely the way to go!

I own the same logging winch which I use with my JD 990.

This is just one of the coolest machines in the world. I think I had a diecast toy of this Farmall when I was a wee lad in the early 1960s...

Here is my 2005 JD 990 TLB doing some work. I cut down this large White Oak for my neighbor which was 49" in diameter and then cleared it up for him. The tree guy wanted $3k just to take it down and they were going to use a crane. The cost to clean it up was going to be extra! My FEL will lift about 1800 lbs at the pivot point. I estimate that the tree all together probably weighed in at about 8 ton with all the trips I made moving it.

Here is the 990 with the F350 Tremor

The tree before we started cutting it. We had to cut 3 large branches off which were about 40' up before we could drop it. I let me son climb it to do that. My joints don't work as well as they use to.

Here is taking the tree down. Tractor is behind my son who is taking the video and the Tremor is all the way down at the end of the driveway all out of the way.

Took down a “small” tree by @Robpm standards Only about 60’ tall and 16- 18” at the base. Ground the stump, split some into firewood. Got some fill dirt and going to grade/ seed today.

Yes! I went big and got the grapple and a clamshell loader bucket. Hydraulic diverter from Summit in AZ with trigger control, it’s the bomb!
How ironic to have such great tools that allow me to do a ton of work even with a bad back. If only I’d of had such cool tools long ago I could have avoided all the back surgeries. Oh well, soldiering on!
