We had a 40' Grand Design Solitude, 15000 lbs - which is why we got the F350 Tremor. The Tremor did not even notice the RV! But we opted to downsize to a 9500 lb Grand Design Reflection, we wanted to be able to visit more campgrounds. As you can imagine, the truck is not stressing at all!

In the meantime try shutting off your converter (flip the breaker) when you are trying to run the AC. That may help, it did for us when we still had our sticks 'n bricks.

I'll definitely try that. Not really keen on spending $200-300 for the soft start. Looking at moving up to a bigger travel trailer soon anyway. Only bought the 18BH because it seemed like my wife's blazer could pull it. It can, but overworks the tranny something fierce

The soft starts are a nice investment, but not if you aren't planning to keep the rig. Besides the benefit of letting you run the AC on smaller service/run multiple it will also help preserve the life of the compressor. So overall, I'd say they are worth it and have, and would, put them on each of my ACs.

Pretty nice place about a mile in from the coast. Right on the river.

Installing a soft start is really easy and you can absolutely take it out and transfer it to a new rig. Easier than upgrading to 30A service. Take a look at the MicroAir EasyStart.

It's called Fireside Campground in Wisconsin. Amenities need a facelift. Very large sites and the price is very good.

I have soft start on mine and I love it. I have run the AC on 15 Amp many times.

Took a road trip to Henry’s Lake Idaho for Memorial weekends to hang out with my marines i went to iraq with. spend two days in Moab on the way up too. Then down through the Tetons on the ways back.

My first longer haul yesterday. Truck did really well. I was looking at installing air bags in the back, but I'm not sure I need them now. The truck felt fairly planted. The 7.3 did ok. 7MPG isn't great, but could be worse I guess. Going to need that bigger tank. (Picture was taken with the Slider all the way back still)

Got the 3" lift finished along with 600w of solar on the roof 900ah of Lithium batteries (3 x 300ah Renogy batteries) and Victron Multiplus 3000, Cerbo GX, BMV-712, Lynx distributor,100/50 MPPT solar controller, DC-DC charger and a few other goodies! The top pic is before, bottom is after the lift. last pic is the majority of the system.

Very nice, I'm planning on doing the lift on mine next month. How was the install?

Wrapping up a week long trip to Michigan caravanning with some friends. Overnight in South Haven, 4 nights in Mackinaw Mills Creek, 3 nights in Pentwater, and an overnight in Indiana back home to STL.
