Same, I’ve got 5 sets of tires for vehicles, plus boat trailer and camper that I buy and service at Discount Tire. When I pull up, I’m greeted by name, and they take care of me

Great to see a first-hand review. I’ve had my RT Trails on since April and have put about 8k mi on them. Looking forward to see how they handle the snow this winter here in KY.

Sorry to hear that. Didn’t know they did franchises now. Always thought it was a privately owned chain.
Hope they get you fixed up quickly.

I have been a Discount Tire customer since 1999. Huge fan, but I have noticed a major shift in their CS and QC over the past few years. Earlier this year, they gouged a wheel. I didn't see it until the next day, and they refused to take care of it. That's not typical Discount Tire form, but they simply don't have the same attention to detail they once did. Scratched and chipped center caps from being tossed around, over-torqued lug nuts, enough tire lube to film nine Ron Jeremy films, and now some of the locations are refusing to install oversize tires as well.

I have yet to switch to someone else because I like the discount they provide me, and they get tires fast, if not the same day. That said, the moment I can find another chain that does a better job, I won't hesitate to give them a try.

Apparently my tire shop (Discount Tire) has no experience with putting on tires in mildy cold temps (upper 30s). They have been trying for the last hour now to blow the last tire onto the rim. I am losing patience. Tempted to tell them to put my old tire back on and order me a new one and try again with a new different tire.

........update, 2.5 hours later and they are installed. Walk out to pick it up and they put the f-ing RT Trails on it. Supposedly put my Pros on someone elses truck that ordered the Trails. He was trying to get that guy to come back up and switch tires. I told him no f-ing way. You are buying me new tires and putting them on. I am not gonna roll on someone else's tires. Super disappointed in DT!.

I'd bill them 2-4 tires off the cost just for your time wasted! Kinda ridiculous to have that level of incompetence in a tire shop... not much excuse in that with how many eyes/hands are on a job that long!

LOL, I have been dealing with the same thing at my local Discount tire this week as well. Apparently, they don't have true blast tanks, liability, and all with the stupid 17-year-old dunces they employ these days. This was for a set of UTV tires/wheels, and I ended up having to take them to an off-road shop to get it done. Surprised they are having that issue with the RT Pro.

Always amazes me when I hear stuff like that from "reputable" shops... I mean its only your clients life in your hands not much room for error! But hey... that new guy can do the job unsupervised right? Save some money kid needs to learn anyway...

This ties into the post seen above... incompetence in tire shops just gets me pissed off rubber is hitting the highway... I want it perfect every time! Even a UTV/ATV... Nothing worse than getting smashed up 60 miles into the forest because your ride ate a tire on the trail.

I went to the Tirelink in Tomball, TX to get my 38's balanced. They did a terrific job and got me taken care of quickly. I mounted them myself due to the bead lock style of wheel I have. If you are in Texas check them out.

Do any of you get the warranty certificate?
The Toyo RT Pros I got this week was my first set of tires from them.
I declined the extra warranty but they told me I have 30 days to add it if I change my mind.

Never. I've had quite a few out-of-rounds from them and have always addressed any issues or concerns within the first 30 days. They've always taken care of it (as expected). I'll take the chance on an irreparable flat - never had one in 20 years.

Just got back from DT for the correct tire install this time. More to the story from yesterday came out today. Apparently two of the tires that they had a hard time seating yesterday wasn't because it was cold, but rather because the tires were deformed while being stacked during transport. Their deformity was what caused the issue. And yet they did everything they could to get them installed and send me on my way without saying a word. I would assume this is a frequent issue with no real harm/risk involved with it, or am I being naive?

Hers is my quick 24-hour comparison of the Trails vs the PROs 100% on the street if anyone cares to know.

Trails:
- though they are not, they felt heavier when turning the steering wheel.
- absolutely have a blocky/chunking feel at low speeds. Something I did not care for.
- they had a little more road noise/hum than my stock Duratracs, but less than the Pros
- I did like the sidewall pattern on these over the Pros (I think they are different, maybe not lol)

Pros:
- roll smoother at all speeds. No blocky or chunky feel.
- turn easily without a weighty sensation even though they are a heavier tire
- they do have a louder road noise/hum than the Trails. It's not annoying loud but it is audible.

Looking forward to seeing how they do long term in some weather and off-road. Happy with my purchase thus far. Thanks gents for the recs.

When I bought my M/T’s to replace the R/T trails, I asked the DT manager about coverage if something happens while on my lease… I was basically told should be ok, but I start coming in every week with torn lugs or mesquite thorns we would run into some issues at some point with them covering with warranty

Yeah, the classic risk/reward situation. The money I've saved by skipping the certificates would pay for another set of 38s and then some by now, but I don't live in mesquite country. I also have a habit of watching the trail closely for anything that might grab a sidewall or be an obvious risk to roll over like a downed tree with broken branches sticking up. Stems from my broke teenager days but still serves me well lol. I like to pull my pickup tires off and sell them while they still have some value on the used market, too. This strategy may not work well in other markets, but around here, someone is usually willing to pay a fair amount for used tires with good tread left, so I avoid the headaches of running them close to the wear bars and usually come out ahead financially.

I've lucked out after getting a tire warranty on a set of Toyo RTs I got from 4WheelParts. I did 3 Death Valley trips within 5k miles of having them installed and absolutely destroyed one tire each trip after never having a flat in 35k miles off road. I plan to buy tire warranties from now on.

Went with the Trails 37/12.5/18 on factory wheels and 2.5 Readylift w/ Radius Arms. First week with them and they're fine. Wish I was bold enough to go with the MTs... maybe next round.

As much as I love the look of my maxxis mt, and they are the best tire I have ever ran in terms of grip in heavy heavy rain, they are loud and I’ll only keep them on for fall/winter, under 60 km/h they arnt bad but over that it’s impossible to have a normal conversation with someone, will be getting a set of ridge grapplers for spring and summer
