Tonneau Covers

Installed my new RetraxPro MX this morning. A little over an hour to assemble and install. Very little adjustment needed. Fit and finish is really nice. I drilled holes in the 2 oval front bed plugs for the drain tubes but I suspect they will interfere with long lumber, etc. that I will carry so will look to poke the drains elsewhere a bit higher………maybe the stake pockets. Due to the height of the Tremor bed there is one thing I confirmed………it’s gonna be a whole lot easier “sliding” this cover open & closed vs flipping the folding covers I’ve had on previous trucks

No, I just checked. There is no slot. It does look it in the pic but its an optical illusion! Haha Too bad though

I can verify that. I have the OEM soft folding now but will do something different long term. @Nick@ApolloOptics has given me some good ideas to consider...

So if you wanted to add Bullring tie downs or any kind of rack that fits with the stake pockets, they remain functional. Most folks don't opt for this option, but it is a nice feature to consider if needed.

Note, the stake pocket cutouts are not available with the XR covers due to the cross bar T-slots.

Wow, thanks Nick! Up until now i did not even know these pocket cutouts existed on Retrax MX. I ordered this cover with my build directly from Ford (which is ironically holding back my build scheduling right now) and i don’t think their factory MX version has these cutouts. If i end up deleting the retractible cover from my build, i’ll order it from you. That or TCUSA roll cover. From everything i heard TCUSA is build like tank in comparison to all other retractible covers out there, and so it costs a few hundred dollars more than others.

That's correct. But also, keep in mind, TCUSA has to ship via LTL freight so it's more expensive for us to ship. We have to deliver on a pallet.

Truxedo low pro if I was doing another roll up. I am going with the tri fold hard cover this time on new truck. Hope I don't regret it!

When I ordered my Tremor I was pretty sure I was going to get a Retrax Pro XR but did a lot of research and could not get past the fact that the Retrax allowed water in the bed and the roll box took up so much space. I was able to check out the Pro XR and several other models 'hands on' and was not impressed. I switched gears and checked out DiamondBack covers and never looked back.

Absolutely LOVE the DiamondBack!

Cover but debating the pre installed anchors. Are you happy you went with smooth vs rugged?

I have had Access covers too. Very good cover also. Truxedo and Access are very similar and never a problem with either of them.

I have a TruXedo Centry CT hard rollup and a friend has the Pro X15 like WKJ1 posted that all fit great, proper length. I do like the material of the Pro and Centery, it is not a dust magnet like traditional vinyl cover material.

I am very happy with the fit. That may be my favorite part- low profile, lays tight and level. I like the matte finish on this one. I have a 2021 F350. It definitely covers the whole thing and seals really well.

I have have had the Truxedo on my 2012 and 2017, and the Access was was on my 2010. All Super Duties. All of them were great covers. Just have to pop cover open before closing tailgate then push cover lip back down

There's a mod where you can flip the rear seal on the cover to negate having to have the cover open before closing the tailgate. I read it on f150 forum here: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/truxedo-sentry-ct-vs-bak-revolver-x2-review-443102/#post6474357

I'm going to try it when Truxedo sends me the replacement cover.

I've seen a bunch of tonneau covers on here. What's the best? Looking for something low profile but also operates well. Ideally easy to take on and off. Pictures appreciated if you have em!
