The TREMOR Towing Table

A normally aspirated engine loses about 3%/1000'. At about 14-15,000' a normally aspirated engine does not have enough excess power to climb further. Surely Ford isn't saying the normally aspirated 7.3 is gunna keep up with the turbodiesel as they climb?
That's what the manual is suggesting, even though you're right that a naturally aspirated motor won't keep up with a forced induction motor at elevation.

That said, both of these motors have power so far in excess of the platform limits that I don't know why they bother with this caveat at all. There's no safety issue.

In the RV & Trailer Towing Guide they're more specific about this applying to Gasoline (as a proxy for naturally aspirated) engines.

Yeah, this is more of one of those “what might a prosecutor use against you if you have a mechanical failure and blast through an intersection with a trailer in tow” kind of things.
You mean like what happened in Carson City?? Lol

I'm getting ready to order a '23 Tremor from Granger's and it looks like GVWRs are changing in MY23. A configured F-250 Tremor automatically adds the option 68U "F-250 >10K GVWR Package", which the order guide vaguely explains as "Increase GVWR". In prior years the GVWR of an F-250 Tremor with the 7.3 was an even 10,000 lbs.

It looks like in MY23 this is being increased to 10,300 lbs. for an F-250 with the 7.3 based on @crstpr1341 post over here:

I'm really curious if anyone has ordered a MY23 F-350 Tremor with the 7.3 to see what the GVWR rating is on that configuration. When I build an F-350 w/7.3 it mentions nothing of GVWR, so maybe it will stay the same at 11,300.

Any word on GCWR GVWR for MY23 F350 Tremors? Looking at an HO 6.7L Lariat Ultimate Tremor.
Haven’t heard anything, but I would be surprised if GVWR changed at all. It’s set more-so by regulation/market segment (which influences the design choices, so not saying the GVWR could be arbitrarily higher, barring derates).

Never say never, though. I could easily be wrong about it.

My order for f350 gas tremor ultimate shows gvwr at 11,499!

My 2022 7.3 Godzilla Tremor has specs printed on the hitch that says maximum hitch weight is 1850 and max gooseneck weight of 18500. Different numbers from the table.

That is what the hitch is rated for, not what Ford says the truck is rated at in any particular trim or model.

Looks like we're thinking about the same thing! Just posted a towing and payload guide addressing the topics more generally so folks can work out the numbers on their own for their specific truck.

Base curb weights would be pretty onerous to get as you would have to get them for each trim level without options for each year.

GAWR wouldn't be too hard to figure out with folks looking at their door stickers, though, since there's a limited number of axles available.

GVWR can be found on page 13 of the 2021 towing guide. It's listed in the context of camper ratings, but GVWR is GVWR.

I thought someone had a Google sheet where people could submit their vehicle info (model, trim, etc) and their payload sticker info. That would make it so you could get a pretty good idea of what your capacities would be while specing out a new build.

Where did you find the number for the gooseneck? Is it the stamped rating on your ball or is it on the bracket under the truck. Do you have a factory system or aftermarket?

I wonder what it is that adds 3k lbs to conventional “rating” for my23 compared to what the Ford towing guide says for my 22 VIN

The numbers are on the factory hitch. i will post a picture tomorrow.

I’m pretty sure those are the ratings for the conventional hitch not goose neck. I haven’t found what the factory ford puck system is actually rated to yet but should be north of what is listed in the towing guide for max goose neck rating.

Will confirm. Those numbers are for conventional towing only, and apply to the receiver itself, not the truck as a whole.

My 21' 7.3 F350 Tremor with the factory puck system is rated at 20k per the towing guide. My receiver hitch also has a tag that says it's rated for 18,200 conventional, however the same towing guide limits it to 15k with the Tremor package.
I have towed gooseneck at 20k MANY miles, (approximately 15,000), and I can say that the truck performed excellent going over the Sierras and Rockies.
