Rossmonster Truck Build – 2024 F350 (long wheelbase)

What in the beauty sakes is this beautiful wiring scheme?
I wish I could claim I designed it all. I got the winch and the front bumper wired and after that realized I was in over my head. Mitchell at Blaze Offroad in Denver is a bit of a head case about this stuff. He figured out the long term plan, cleaned up what I had done and then built a system that is flexible and that I can modify cleanly and gives me zero problems.

It's the same winch here. I mostly travel solo, so self-recovery is a priority. I am still debating whether to upgrade to four Maxtracks instead of the two that I ordered with the table mount.

Once I have my rig back I may hit you up on some more Baja Design lights. But before I go overboard, I want to test things out .

We did exactly that — adding an extra set for our truck. Yes recovery was one thought, but to be honest the main reason and was has proved to be far more common is just for leveling the truck. Having 4 in total really gives you a decent chance on a slope.

We didn’t go for the extreme’s, to cut down on weight. 4 of these guys are heavy enough. As long as you are good at left foot breaking to reduce tire spin, these are totally adequate.

I have orange in stock, and can get any of the other colors to you in just a few days.

Excited to see the photo updates from Ross monster.

Have a great week!

And so it begins ...

That is sooooooo sick.

...looks like the front has not gotten the Carli Pintop suspension and upgraded wheels/tires yet.

Fast progress! Makes sense for them to do the rear suspension while the pickup bed was off and before the camper cab went on to make that install easier. Plenty of time to do the front suspension later and smart of them to prioritize camper install as it has a longer runway and many more variables that may stall or need solving. Waiting on the front suspension makes sense as they can fill the gaps in camper progress with the front suspension install.

Agreed. And it fits my experience with them so far. They are very organized and look for efficiencies to make things better.

Curious why you traveled all the way to Iowa from San Diego to get the truck?

Don't want to speak for @Chris-DTA, but easy answer. Price! Granger sells for a few percent below invoice (That's below invoice; not MSRP). No one comes close to their price that I've seen. True one has one way airfare, hotel, fuel, and your time, but saving $5k to $8k+ can be worth it if one enjoys a good road trip and local dealers are only selling for MSRP or above.

I put one of these in all my vehicles. Theyre the best there is.

I agree. I've had the extreme version for about 5 years and it works very well (I swapped it from my 2019 Raptor to my 2022 SD when I sold the Raptor). I have the digital keypad, which gives you the option of a longer key code. It is reinforced well. You can keep the safe unlocked while driving with the latch open at 45 degrees (so it doesn't open, but it is unlocked and contents can be accessed quickly).

Additional info for my situation. When I ordered my truck in July '23, local dealerships had just come down to selling for MSRP and had not been taking any programs (X pricing). I ran the numbers between local MSRP and Granger's "2% below invoice" and the price difference was $5,434 and that was a fairly basic non-tremor Lariat. The spread on an upper level trim would be $7,500 - $8,000. For process, I emailed them the exact build I wanted and got a quote in a couple hours. Very easy. Note that their allocation and deal can vary, so you'll need to check with them and see current offering. They typically require a non-refundable $1,000 deposit, so if your order situation is flighty, then that is something to consider as well.

With expenses and travel, that was worth it to me and I was going to make it a road trip to see family on the way back, but right before I ordered, local dealership once again started taking Xplan on SuperDuty. Xplan is the employee pricing that you can get through various programs even if you are not an employee, like the Mustang club, some Veterans clubs, etc. XPlan doesn't get you down to Granger's 2% below invoice, and is a bit above invoice, but that reduced the spread on my truck to $2,095. Figured out I'd burn about $1,000 in airfare, hotel and fuel, so for me, I just ordered local for the $1,000 spread. But if it was going to be the original $5,434 spread, I would have gone through Granger.

But there are quite a few threads on the whole Granger "fly and buy" thing, so those threads would be better for that discussion.
Here is the original and then a more recent, though there are more. Of note, the Tremor package is one of the allocations Granger runs out of fairly quickly (also F450 and Platinums), so timing is everything:

I think @Chadx did a great job to summarize the reason why to buy from Granger. In addition, the original timing for an expected delivery I was given, would have lined up perfectly with dropping off the truck in Longmont at Rossmonster on my way back from Iowa. I knew that was a long shot, but hey - why not try.

In my case it took only 66 days between placing the order and taking delivery and I am always up for a good road trip

Sub-floor, insulation, and windows are going in. They also installed/mounted my Wolfbox rearview mirror camera to the rear wall. I like the location and the clean look of where the camera for the rearview mirror is. Oh, not to be forgotten - the rear Molle panels have been installed as well. The pass-through has not been cut yet, but the rear window of the truck was replaced before the camper shell was installed.
