Will one be able to receive the update without having the phone app active?
I don't have the phone app; I've canceled my account.

Your truck is out of date by awhile. You may need FDRS to update it, especially for full screen carplay if you don’t have that already.mine is showing version: 21136 product revision: 134. so is mine probably real old and not been updated for a while ?
after reading this thread, i went out and connected my truck to my wifi and set a schedule date. my auto update was turned on. so i don't know if it's up to date or not. if i press the update button, the truck say's it's up to date. ????
oh great !! i don't know what full screen car play is, but the truck seem's to be doing everything i need it to do.Your truck is out of date by awhile. You may need FDRS to update it, especially for full screen carplay if you don’t have that already.
i was thinking of having my local dealer update my truck with there mobile service. i'm not super techie, but i do know how to use forscan. i would really hate to screw something up.If anyone needs to rent a Mongoose cable and wants help updating their truck, PM me. I've helped tons of members on this forum. I believe the first update was a gateway module, which I received OTA on Monday. I haven't seen the second update, but I can plug it in with FDRS and check it this afternoon. For whatever reason, I almost never get OTA updates at home; maybe I have bad cellular service with Ford's cellular provider. I have a wifi access point in the garage, so I know I have a good signal.
If your truck is a 2022 and has never received updates, then you probably have 11-15 updates pending, some of which are pretty large. Most trucks take 4-8 hours to run the updates, depending on engine and trim level.
If you can get the dealer to do it for you for free then please go that route. If you can read and follow instructions, then you can do it yourself. It takes 4-8 hours and a solid wifi connection to do the updates. I don't think the mobile guy would be able to pull this off unless they have already had the updates downloaded beforehand.i was thinking of having my local dealer update my truck with there mobile service. i'm not super techie, but i do know how to use forscan. i would really hate to screw something up.
the being able to read and follow directions could be a problem. i will check with the dealer and see what they say. after that, i will get ahold of you and see what we can do. maybe i could do a little road trip this summer. If you can get the dealer to do it for you for free then please go that route. My local dealer isn't equipped yet to do this but they are working to get someone trained. Fluid checks and tire rotations only.i was thinking of having my local dealer update my truck with there mobile service. i'm not super techie, but i do know how to use forscan. i would really hate to screw something up.
You make house calls right?!?!?If anyone needs to rent a Mongoose cable and wants help updating their truck, PM me. I've helped tons of members on this forum. my dealer came to my house to do that last emissions recall on my truck. it was a program update. no parts involved. My local dealer isn't equipped yet to do this but they are working to get someone trained. Fluid checks and tire rotations only.
Nice work! Do the new updates seem to fix anything obvious on first glance? Regarding the IPC and APIM that is. The update(s) didn't break any Forscan changes either? Unreal engine, climate bar, and black text box disable on the rear camera view mainly.I booted up my old windows 10 laptop, updated FDRS and firmware for the mongoose cable. I have 6 new updates:
Telematics Control Unit (TCU)
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
Driver & Passenger Multi-Contour seat module (SCMH, SCMG)
Gateway Module A (GWMA)
Sync 4 APIM
Yes there is a new APIM! It took about 2 hours to run all of these updates with FDRS. Now I have the updated files cached on my USB drive. The new APIM revision is 1286. I saw someone posted it earlier in the thread, but they were not sure. I can confirm it's out for the 2022 model trucks.
I wasn't able to get the Multi-Contour seat modules to upgrade. I tried each twice. I will let the truck sleep overnight, then I will disconnect the batteries for 10 minutes and retry. I was surprised so many module updates but it makes sense for the new features they listed.
I don't think the IPC and Seat modules can be updated over the air because they are updated via ODB2 Port. The GWMA, TCU and APIM all update with a thumb drive.
Total was about 5.5GB in size for all 6 updates. The seat modules were tiny, most of that is the APIM.
@ZooDad
Don't bother with trying. I tried a few times also and no go.I wasn't able to get the Multi-Contour seat modules to upgrade. I tried each twice. I talked to @ZooDad and he said the same thing. That update has been broken for 2 months according to him. Thanks for validating and saving me 20 minutesDon't bother with trying. I tried a few times also and no go.
Be careful with those Mongooses. they'll snatch your wallet. You all need to stop doing all the updates and telling us how great it is via the Mongoose cable and FDRS. I feel like my wallet is about to open...
