Receiver hitches?

Really considering the B&W tow and stow 7”.

Anybody else have a heard time worrying about spring pins and theft? I live in the country so most the time no concern but towing cross country with a hitch that doesn’t lock seems crazy.

The pins can be removed but not easily wit a trailer on. The ball and bracket are designed to only to be able to be removed with hitch not attached to the truck.

The pins could be stolen but the ball mount cannot be removed without removing the hitch from the truck. Also, there is a company that sells locking pins for the B&W.

Link for the locking pins?

With 7,650 lbs on my rear axle and Sumo Springs, my 8" drop scraped going in and out of parking lots and gas stations. I am thinking of cutting off the bottom hole?

Has anyone found a link to the locking pins for the 3" B&W?

Looks like this may work for the 2 and 2.5": https://www.amazon.com/Hitch-Lock-Curt-Mfg-Stainless/dp/B07WL86KL4/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=b&w+hitch+pin&qid=1599230588&sr=8-8&th=1
Someone posted a link, either in this thread or one of the others related, I can’t recall the name of the manufacturer.

Personally they seemed like a ”nice to have” not a ”need to have” and for the price of them I was fine with sticking with a single lock for the hitch and lynch pins for the 3 adjustment pins. I swapped out the zinc hairpin style pins that the hitch came with for the stainless steel lynch pins for a cleaner look and the material.

agreed^

I went ahead and ordered the 7" B&W after i learned the ball bracket cannot be removed without removing hitch from reciever. I don't want to deal with unlocking pins for adjustment, so ill go your route and replace hairpins with something else. Thanks for the idea!

Here is the LINK to my thread with pics, part number and link to the lynch pins in you’re interested.

Got my Weigh Safe hitch in finally. They forgot my locking pin. That makes my last 2 orders for my truck either wrong part or missing part. Good help is hard to find these days!! I added a picture for 10% off code if anyone is interested.
Just got an 8" drop 2 1/2" Weighsafe hitch for $230. They have a 20% off sale right now through Monday 09/05. Thanks for the coupon code, I was able to save $25

Me too, ordered this last night. I picked this over the B&W because I don't want both balls on there at the same time. At my deer lease we have several spots where the hitch will bottom out. A ball on the bottom would be bad news. The weighsafe allows you to just swap when needed.

What’s everyone using for receiver hitches?
BW tow and stow is by far superior to most all other hitches
& its American made!! i pulled the crappy 2.5"
adapter Ford put on my 350 and got the 3"shank 7" drop
w/3 balls and a draw bar attachment . 21,000lbs gtwr
tows everything under the sun thats bumper pull
the only hitch you will ever want to own.

I'm thinking of getting the black steel single ball but can't decide if i want the 6 or 8". Stock height tremor. i hear ppl keep saying they are glad they went with the 8" just in case. Makes me lean towards the B&W 7" for that happy medium, what do you think, i don't want to have to buy another 8" in the future, want just a one and done. Was hoping 6" would be fine but not sure honestly...
7” BW is perfect,
Levels everything perfectly

Update: I tore out of a parking lot with a steep down slope onto the main road where there was a ton of scarring from other cars and scraped the hitch again, UNLOADED! The 8" bulletproof is getting cut down :(

Makes me think the Bulletproof 6” is the way to go?

+3 Deciding between 5 and 7" B&W
If you pull any lower trailer go 7”. My cargo and boat the 5” would be fine. Lower profile trailers the 7” relay helps keep the back of the trailer from dragging.
