Project Black Cherry

So with this setup you aren't replacing the dash unit?
No, he bought the Zen A2B to integrate with the factory system. No need to replace that beautiful 2022 screen with aftermarket. The Zen module retains all of the factory functionality of the system while allowing low level outputs to audio amplifiers. It removes the B&O amplifier out of the equation.

very cool, thanks!

@BLACKCHERRY - I’m curious. Just had my system upgraded as well. So much better. I have the ZEN unit as well. I’m wondering, does your navigation still give the audible prompts? Mine lowers the music volume, as if its going to say “turn now left” or something, but there’s no prompt. I get a random like 1 out of 10 prompts that actually come through, but it dims the music everytime. Installer did something to try and address it, but it didn’t work. I’m supposed to let them know, but thought I’d ask you also. I did optic connection for the ZEN, not analog.

Have you tried to increase the volume during the expected prompt? I believe that is how the system is designed so the user can adjust to a comfortable level. Yours may just be turned all the way down.

Ooh, that’s a good idea. I’ll try that. The weird thing is, again, 1/10 prompts comes through at the normal volume. The rest of the time, music dims, but no prompt. I will try that though, just to see/rule it out. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but I’d like to figure out why it’s’ doing that

This! ^^^

Mine works fine. I get some confusion when i take a call on the phone/ringer volume vs. audio volume and find myself adjusting it a lot. Also, SUPER irritating, my volume knob has a noticable lag/delay. Same with steering wheel controls. I am so used to it being instantaneous, i find myself over or under adjusting the volume all the time.

Worst riding tires I've owned. I rant them to 25psi and they were still hard as rocks. Makes sense why people see 40-50K miles out of them. Also, they SUCK in the dirt. Don't hook-up at all.
Dan can you explain what you mean by hard as rocks? I aired mine down to 40psi all around (running Pintop with ridge grapplers 37s/12.5s, roughly 600 miles on my new suspension) and i swear i get feedback on every smallest imperfection in the road, even those 1/2 inch cracks that my eyes can’t see, i register now - the local roads are just painful and unbearable. Guys at CJC think that maybe my pintop needs time to settle and the hardness will go away, but i came back to your statement above, thinking it could be the tires giving this super hard feedback from the road. Thoughts?

I hate them - i don't care what anyone says about Toyo RT or Ridge Grapplers. I found the combination of their MT style sidewall and super-hard treat (trying to achieve long tread-life, i have to assume) made for crap performance in the dirt and miserable on-road ride. After switching back to MT, i had ZERO ride quality complaints but get half the tread life. I guess you need to decide what's more important; getting 50K out of your off-road style tires or ride compliance! I chose ride compliance but it's a costly decision, lol.

I’m running Ridge Grapplers right now also and didn’t think more about the compliance since I don’t know a whole lot about other tires
until you highlighted your issues with them I can see hear and feel more aware now. What do you think about the MT Toyos? Thanks

Toyo MT are the benchmark; they're my favorite tire.

I am headed down the same path!

40" Onx6 Arc Dual Control - you can run clear, amber or both! Way less camera blockage and a $#^+ ton of light!

Very sharp

The BD pod lights how do you like them and why did you go with the yellow outside instead of inside have never seen this setup before

I’ve got SDHQ and XL80’s waiting to be installed as well as the BD pod lights you have but I’m going with a Switch-Pros 9100 in a overhead mount

Pod lights - amber are SAE - so they meet "street legal" specifications - they are hooked up directly to the fog light switch by the lights. They are not super bright but throw a nice yellow pattern which is good for dust and fog and compliment your low beams nicely. They also are different than what people are used to seeing coming up from behind - so they tend to move over, if they are looking back. The clear lights in the pod work good, but they are limited in what they can throw due to size and location - but they do add additional light up front.

On 40" - amber on the outside is how the dual control comes. The lenses (clear vs amber) can be swapped if you want it in another confirguration.

I’ve got the lights off a Raptor & purchased the rest of the parts separate so I don’t have SAE amber but planning on having them hooked into the fog light circuit

Looking to light up ditches & median for critters & in snow more than anything & the A pillar lights to actually Leigh up things

Being local to S&B and having used their parts on my last three builds, I lent them the truck to confirm fitment of ALL their available parts for the 2022. Breathing better now thanks to the Intake and intercooler charge-pipe; endurance improved by my MASSIVE 60 gallon tank that somehow appears to have retained my factory, tremor skid plate. As always, incredible products by S&B.
