I know it’s kind of a ridiculous comparison, but how would you compare the Bronco’s stock capability with the various Super Duty suspensions? Basically would you equate it to a stock Super Duty, Commuter kit, Back Country, Pin Top, etc.

Or are they just too different of vehicles to compare?

Put the kids to bed, strapped on the headlamp and set out for my first long night in driveway with the Tremor. Hit the LED light button in the bed to find I really didn't need the headlamp but it was nice to have to run the drain lines. Installing this by myself was... Interesting but only took about an hour. If you can't front-squat 100 awkward pounds with rails attached, I recommend having a buddy help you.

Now that you’ve had it for a few months, what’s your opinion of the Retrax?

I am always happy to jump back in my Super Duty. Nothing matches the stability and overall composure of this truck. The Bronco is badass. We had a blast. I brought out our 2018 Jeep JLU Rubicon with our kit and it was a fun comparison of straight axle with gobs of travel to IFS in stock form. The Jeep kept better contact with the ground but the Bronco handled EVERYTHING we threw at it.

I can't even compare it to the Super Duty, shorter wheel base, IFS, completely different power band. I would never hit what we did in the bronco yesterday in my Super Duty. The Bronco is like a little sports car after jumping out of my truck. The only place the Super Duty would leave the Bronco behind is the desert - it's wheelbase would be super crappy in the chop.

Love it, best cover I've had.

I will preface this statement with the fact that we have done zero off-roading in either our 22 Tremor or 21 Bronco. I can agree with your statement that they are different animals though. Our Bronco is a 2DR and feels even more like a sports car. I laugh every time I crank the wheel with the ridiculously tight turning radius! The SD feels like a luxury vehicle in comparison - the Bronco is somewhat crude, noisy, visceral, just as it should be in my opinion. We can't wait for the weather to warm and get the top/doors off experience too.

Agree, 100% - i turn it to Baja mode and bounce it off the rev limiter; it's a really fun rig!

Next question is…would they fit with the 2.5/3.5 kit?
Depends on your comfort level with a sawzall! I still haven't completely gotten them to fit my 5.5 lol. I HATE trimming this beautiful truck but need to nut-up and get it done. The -12mm offset isn't making it any better. The 38s fit beautifully on my 0 offset wheels. That said, I'd probably try to get to +12mm or so on a 3.5" to minimize the cutting.

Dan, would 37/13.5s clear on +12 offset 5.75 backspacing wheels with carli radius arms and 3.5 kit? Or do 13.5s really need closer to 0 offset to clear on the inside?

I want 13.5s but at the same time to be tucked in to the max possible.

What's the wheel width? a +12mm offset is a 5.5" Backspace on a 9" wide; normally, a 5.75" Backspace is a +18mm. The +18mm is a Ram offset, really. A 37x13.5" Will fit with our radius arms on a +12mm but NOT an +18mm.

These are the 3 wheels i was looking at, obviously methods at +18 being the most tucked in. I think based on what you’re saying, Methods are out, Black Rhinos are questionable and Fuels are probably OK with 13.5s and carli radius arms.

Black Rhino Arsenals:
18x9.58x170125.70
Fuel Zephyrs:
18x98x17015.040
Method NV HD:
18x98x170185.75

Dan,

Will a 37 x 12.5 x 18 fit on the 3.5" lift Eventure, with radius arms on a 18 MM offset I was planning either a Method 305 NV HD - 18 x 9 - 18 mm (5.75" backspace)

I am also looking at a Method 704 HD 17 x 9 - 18 mm (5.75" backspace) - but with those wheels I would be looking at 35 x 12.5 x 17's - as there a no good tire options at 37x12.5x17.

Both of the above I would do Toyo Open Country AT III

Thx for input

Of those 3, Fuel Zephyrs all the way! The other two will likely scrub the Radius Arms at full lock.

That will be TIGHTTTTT. My guess, you'll clear but you may have the slightest rub, if anything. The 12.5" width and lack of side-lugs on the all terrain may be perfect to keep it tucked in. One thing to note, the tighter you go on offset, the closer you're going to be to the "slack" of your Carli Extended Brake Lines. I highly recommend 0 offsets for this reason.

Just curious what type of tire you’re after? Seems like the 37x12.50r17 size has a lot of options from mild to wild.

I tow a lot and want an AT tire with load range E - the options are all load range D (and one load range C) - so limits choices. Toyo has 35x12.5x17 or a 37x12.5x18 AT - both are load range E - so that has been my tire of choice.
